My computer says this is a virus! - Antiviruses hate DLLs for various reasons, and will mark third-party DLLs as viruses basically at random.
I'm playing the game on Linux using so-and-so, will your mods work? - Yes, the mods should now work on Linux.
Will using mods get me banned? - No, you cannot use these particular mods unless EasyAntiCheat is disabled and EAC won't retroactively punish you for disabling it (I can't guarantee that it won't react to altered saves).
Can I play online with mods? - As stated, you can only play with these mods if EAC is disabled, this forces the game into offline mode.
Can I use this mod with this-and-that? - Most likely, you will have to test for yourself. Just make sure you don't have other things modifying the same memory (Flawless Widescreen, etc).
If you have any issues, then please comment below with the contents of log.txt for the relevant mod(s).
It works, 120+ fps on Ultra with Raytracing. The problem however, is that the game stutters for a bit every 5-10 seconds, making it quite unplayable. I tried turning off Raytracing to no avail.
RTX 5080 & Ryzen 7 9800x3D. I think it has to do with this mod because I dont remember having stutering before downloading it. Sadly if I remove this mod, I'll have to go back to 60fps...
i get the same stutters on a 4070ti super. Was working fine for a few days but then just started to randomly stutter in new areas and also crashed once. been going on for a few days now, not sure if it's a compatibility issue with new drivers or not.
I have the same issue, constant stutters but it does work, and same specs as well (5080 + 9800x3d). I really hope someone/I can find something to alleviate it...
I am unable to get this mod to work. im using a 4090 w/ ultra 7 265kf and 64gb ram with a 240hz oled display. ive added the files to the correct location within the game folder, but when i start the game with the mod loader; nothing happens. i dont see any boost in fps,
i have also turned off the vsync setting and put the game into borderless window mode.
This still seems to work flawlessly on my setup; I even use separate mods outside this one, and I don't have issues at all — perhaps it's because I'm using Linux instead of windows, but I'm not sure. If anyone else wants to try this mod while running Linux, here's how I got it to work: Download the "Elden mod loader" as outlined, placing all the files into the folder where "eldenring.exe" resides; afterwards, place the contents of the "Unlock the framerate" mod into the "mods" folder you just created (ModEngine2 uses a separate "mod" folder, so if you're using other mods, or plan to, make sure the files are in their proper folder). Open Steam and right click Elden Ring, choose the "properties" option, and add this command to the launch options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command% Everything should work if you followed the instructions; I've been able to play with Clever's moveset mods, my own modifications, and all of it with the fps locked at 100 — and no screen tearing.
I hope someone has had the same issue as I have and have managed to resolve it: For some reason, the mod partly works. it indeed unlocks the FPS as my FPS counter is now 90-150 in game. However, thats not whats displayed at all, its always stuck at 60FPS, even though I have a 144hz monitor, I followed to steps in the guide as well to turn off the vsync.
The cpu went over 90+ degrees after unlocking the fps. Water cooling and usually 60 degrees max. i5 11600k without overclocking. What should be disabled or done to avoid such a fire?
ignore that "DarkEslariate" person as they literally have not touched a computer in their entire life. saying "an i5 is outdated" is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on the internet, and that's coming from a person who is on reddit like 24/7. an i5 11600k is fine, try making sure it's not trying to use the igpu on your cpu, might potentially be causing issues.
The game stutters freezes 3-5 seconds YES I tried removing every single mod to discover where the issue was and to my surprise it was the fps unlocking that made this issue

I'll have to check it out.
