After further investigation, it seems that tattoos and scars are not used in the same way as other slots. I still haven’t tested all of them, but it appears that they are a bit more complicated to use as replacement slots than anything else. Until we’ve figured out how to properly use them, I’d recommend the following options to use for capes instead, as these have all been confirmed to work:
All regular Hairstyles will work (hr_a_xxxx) as well as any other armor slot (hd/bd/am/lg_x_xxxx) but it’s much better to use any of the fg_a_xxxx options so that you can still have a full armor set and hair equipped with a cape.
Here’s an example of the recommended equipment slot ID’s for a maxed out armor set:
This template allows you to build an armor set with 10 different pieces of any armor you want. Whether you want to have all 10 of them be capes, or to wear a mashup of 2 full armor sets at the same time, these 10 slots should have you covered!
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, everything that can be adjusted in the mirror can be used as an additional item slot or gear replacement slot, which is kind of crazy if you think about how many layers you can actually have equipped at once! They work especially well for parts that you want to retain physics on such as capes, as they can all be stacked together without any interference. So, whether you use them for armor parts or, maybe you just want to have a bunch of different weapons attached to your back, it's all possible. Not sure how well you know the ID's for each of the mirror cosmetics, but I'll list them all below in case you (or anyone else that sees this) would like to know what they are. I'm not including the ID's for Body/Skin or Head/Face because their ID's are a bit more sporadic than the ones below, but this'll be more than plenty. But, if you do want to go through those, you can start at fc_x_0000 for Body/Skin and then for Head/Face start at fg_a_0000.
For anyone else seeing this that isn't familiar with these ID's, they all generally reflect the order of what you see in the mirror. Also, it's good to know that any ID that ends with all zeros "X000" will be the "none" option of that cosmetic category. So, you could assign your cape to the, "no scar or tattoo" slot by renaming the cape file to fg_a_6000, and bam! This is especially nice for very quickly adding several parts of gear to your set. If you set you character up in the mirror to have the first slot chosen for every option that you can, remembering the ID's ending in all zero's is easy and allows you to try out different combinations of armor parts very quick and easily.
One thing to note here though, is that there are times when using these ID's in combination with others like body/skin (fc_x_xxxx) for example, where you may have a part that becomes invisible when renaming it. This is usually because the files packed inside the part you're renaming/replacing share the same ID as another part that you have currently equipped. So, if that ever happens you can easily resolve it by simply un-packing with WitchyBND (or Yabber...) and renaming the files inside that to match the cosmetic mirror ID that you're replacing it with.
Make sure to rename all of the files in there accordingly, and if you see a couple files with "_c" at the end of their filename (_c.clm2) (_c.hkx) make sure to keep that "_c" when you're renaming them, otherwise you'll get an error message when you go to re-pack. Also, don't forget to open up the bnd4.xml file at the top, and rename the ID's in there as well. If you want to save a bunch of time (and headache... lol) I would highly recommend using a text editor like Visual Studio Code which gives you the ability to "Change All Occurrences" that automatically finds similar strings that you can change all at once upon right-clicking any highlighted text.
Another quality of life tip that some may not know about, is that you can access your clipboard history by holding the Windows key and pressing "V' This is particularly useful for these times when you're renaming several ID's at once, as you can just copy each of them individually, then when you go to paste them, you'll be able to access all of those ID's you've copied without having to go back and forth between a bunch of different folders to re-copy anything.
Any way, once you've successfully re-packed the file(s) that you've renamed, die or warp somewhere (the Roundtable Hold requires x2 warps to refresh...) to reload your gear and then your replacement part(s) will now be visible.
TL;DR It is always possible to use any of these parts files as additional gear slots, allowing you to assign anything you want to them. As long as the ID that you set for the main outer .dcx file matches what's packed inside of it (like the .tpf / .flver etc.) your parts will always retain visibility upon reloading.
(Warping or dying can work as ways to reload your gear, but if you'll be reloading things frequently/consistently, I would highly recommend using cheat engine, dsanimstudio or a combination of both to near-instantly refresh your character's entire kit anywhere in the game, at any time and these tools provide much more consistency and reliability when reloading for longer sessions.)
I have a script for reloading just the parts folder which is instant, but also one that reloads the parts, chr and map folders but there’s a short loading screen for that one. The cool part about that one though, is it saves your current position so you’ll be right where you were after it loads rather than it starting you back at a site of grace. I’d be happy to share the scripts for those if you want to add them to your table. I could also just make a custom table that just has the reloading features if you’d prefer that. Otherwise, I could just send over my personal table that I’ve been continuously building since the game came out which has the reloading scripts as well as a ton of other quality if life features like disabling death/gravity/collision etc. for out of bounds exploring and even the ability to get any armor/weapon/item instantly. Honestly though, while I do use all of that pretty regularly, the best part of all is that it makes starting a new character really quite effortless as you can warp anywhere right away, unlock all maps/graces/cookbooks etc. and even things like adding +20hp and +20fp flask charges and as many physick charges as you want. It’s really just an all-around perfect table for anything you might wanna do, like if you decide you actually don’t want all of the maps and graces after all, you can easily disable them all or individually. There’s a ton more on top of all that too, like instantly making your character level 713 with 99 in every stat for exploring new builds, and summoning NPC’s and bosses to practice on. And, unlike some of the other tables that are available everything works 100% of the time and isn’t cluttered with “outdated” or “WIP” sections that use an entire rainbow of colors for text! lol Most of the features have controller hotkeys that I’ve set-up in a way that makes sense and is intuitive to use so that once you activate the table, you can just use everything from your controller and don’t really have to alt-tab back and forth at all. Totally up to you though, obviously! I’m just here to help others enjoy the game as much as I do.
Apologies for the delay, I've been so busy recently that I forgot my own birthday was yesterday... haha! Any way, I sent you a link to the table so check your inbox and let me know if you have any questions on anything!
Very cool Mod! Question, and I apologize if you've already answered it. Does this effect the default Radahn Armor or is it a seperate stand alone thing? I ask because I have multiple characters, I'd like to use this mod for a character that does not use Radahns set, but I have another charachter who does where Radahns set and would not want that charachters armor to be effected.
This mod is set up so that capes replace the first hair style slot, which allows you to still equip a full 4-pieces set of armor along with a cape. So, as long as you don't have hair style 1 (bald) equipped on your Radahn character, then it won't be affected!
Alternatively, you can simply rename the capes to any other part if you ever need to swap it out. There are a ton of different slots that you can put these capes on, but here are a few examples:
If you want a cape on an armor set that doesn't have a helm that hides your head, you could put the cape on: Commoner's Headband (Altered) - hd_m_2141.partsbnd.dcx
If you want to have your head and hair both visible but don't want any facial hair, then you could put the cape on the first facial hair slot: Beard 1 - fg_a_3000.partsbbnd.dcx
If you want to have your head, hair AND facial hair visible, then you could put the cape on something like the blindfold: Eyepatch 4 - fg_a_5010.partsbnd.dcx
This is actually an amazing Idea, it's a surprise that no one else has tried something similar to what you have done. Did you use flver to delete the other armor pieces from Radahn's Chest Piece? How did you keep the animations of the cape?
I know, I was surprised when I posted this but am even more surprised now that there still aren't any others. I have a bunch more of these cape packs that I need to finish, but lately I've been focusing on other mods and commissions.
Some of the other cape packs that I'll be releasing include the capes from the following sets: Banished Knight Black Knife (non-transparent) Briar Confessor Elden Lord Fingerprint Hoslow Mohg Night's Cavalry Preceptor Raging Wolf Ronin Spellblade Traveler Perfumer
And yes, I did use flver editor for this mod. If you aren't familiar with the set or aren't sure which mesh is the cape, start with all layers selected and hidden. Then when you find the cape, you can just delete everything else instantly. As long as you only delete the faces of the mesh, it will retain all of the cloth bone physics.
Don't know if you're still responding to comments, but I have this linked with the black hood, but I don't want it to disappear. Where in equipparamprotector would I change this?
I’d have to check to see which exact mask it is for that, but they are all at the bottom of EquipParamProtector. If you’d rather just have the Black Hood merged onto one of the capes, I could do that for ya. Just let me know which one you want, and I’ll send you a link!
Hi man! That's a very cool mod and a good source of inspiration! Do you have any more Part iD lists for the playable character? I'm playing around with combinations of skins and mod armours to make a Death knight haha

Until we’ve figured out how to properly use them, I’d recommend the following options to use for capes instead, as these have all been confirmed to work:
Eyeballs = fg_a_1500 - fg_a_1512
Eyebrows = fg_a_2000 - fg_a_2016
Facial Hairs = fg_a_3000 - fg_a_3011
Eyepatches = fg_a_5000 - fg_a_5002
Blindfold = fg_a_5010
Eyelashes = fg_a_7000 - fg_a_7003
All regular Hairstyles will work (hr_a_xxxx) as well as any other armor slot (hd/bd/am/lg_x_xxxx) but it’s much better to use any of the fg_a_xxxx options so that you can still have a full armor set and hair equipped with a cape.

hd_x_xxxx - Head/Helm
bd_x_xxxx - Chest/Armor
am_x_xxxx - Hands/Gloves
lg_x_xxxx - Legs/Boots
hr_a_xxxx - Hair
fc_x_0000/0100 - Body/Skin
fg_a_2000 - Any/Physics
fg_a_3000 - Any/Physics
fg_a_5010 - Any/Physics
fg_a_7000 - Any/Physics
