About this mod
ER Death counter is a tool that automatically counts the number of deaths in the Elden Ring (works with anti-cheat enabled), it can be used with OBS
- Permissions and credits
- No need to use the script from the beginning of the game, it will automatically load the deaths that were there before it was installed
- Works with anti-cheat enabled
- Works with Seamless Co-op
- No need to press the button every time you die, the script updates the data automatically
- Install ER_Death_Counter.exe
- Select your game save file (default location: "%AppData%\EldenRing\STEAM_ID\ER0000.sl2"). If you are using a global mod that has its own save file extension, change the file type drop-down in the save selection dialog to "All Files" instead of ".sl2". I don't give any guranties that this tool will work with global mods, but you could try and write if it works.
- Select deaths.txt file location. You don't need to create the file, the application will create it automatically, just select the folder where you want it to be.
- If necessary, change the format of the death.txt file. {} will be replaced by deaths. You can change the value with +-*/, for example {+30} will increase the number of deaths by 30.
- If you have multiple characters, select the profile index you want to use. The index may not match the profile number in the game, go through them all and check the one you think is correct. (This may change in the future).
- The "Set Death to Zero" button resets the counter to 0. Reset cancels this.
- Create Text(GDI+) in your OBS scene
- Choose Read from file in Properties for Text(GDI+) and select deaths.txt
- If Windows deletes the Death Counter after a while, add it to the list of antivirus exclusions.
- If you have problems with saving deaths.txt, then run the program as administrator
If the app no longer launches, delete the "ER DeathCounter" folder from your documents and enable Old Load Method checkbox before selecting Save File (will be fixed in the next update).fixed in version 3.7After you die, the counter may display an incorrect value for a few seconds.fixed in version 3.6The death counter could start showing a wrong number. (Not after death, or after death but staying wrong for more than 1 minute.) It should come back to the correct value after some time or deaths, but I would be happy if you send me a bugged savefile.fixed in version 3.6
