Is it possible to create a mod with the ability to rebind the OK and BACK menu buttons to something else (like in Dark Souls III)? I know that rebinding exist on steam but I also want the change to be reflected in the menu UI as well.
As the description says, this mod turned out to be something that was already in the game, but with the "allow this to be rebound" tag set to "no" instead of "yes" so it's a tad bit outside the scope of what you're asking, but that does seem like something that might be possible. You'd have to ask in the ER modding discord to get a better answer. https://discord.gg/mT2JJjx
I see thanks, I guess I'll take a dive into this. Either that or I might just see if a UI mod can swap the button graphicly while I use steams rebinding.
won't use this becaues AHK already solved my problem with it, but i'll download just to endorse also, is it possible to use the same key to OPEN the map but also CLOSE it? you press G to open it and then you have to press ESC to close it, it's so bad lmao
it still needs a seperate key bind, since the map button is inextricably tied to the menu help button, but the back button (default q) works as well.
I find this solution better than AHK, though, cuz i can now bind something else to G without needing to start creating a web of rebinds where now i press G and it emulates, like, [ or something and i set the button to [ in game, then have m emulate G, and it gets messier than I like, especially when you tab out to type and start soundin[ like your do[ broke your keyboard with letters all gisplaced
This is the best thing ever, because I play on controller but my clip keybind is bound to ALT+G so every time I wanted to clip something I'd open the map. I thought I could just rebind it but gassed myself into thinking I just couldn't see the rebind option
as a keyboard player you have no idea how much it's been bugging me cuz G is not only a really silly button for the map, but also, coincidentally, what I usually have bound to "use item" in past games, so i had to remap a lot of muscle memory. Now i can start working on fixing my brain with G as my item button and M as the map
