Thank you so much for the "modded_keep" option.
On KB/M i could not play my spellcaster without it.
Absolutely horrible job Fromsoftware did for the PC players.

It's perfect for Keyboard and mouse. I'm playing Seamless Coop with friends. I use mouse and they use controller, so I install this mod while they won't.
Will mod inconsistency affect Seamless Coop connection?

Or is it possible to add a key binding to switching Free Lock Cam and Vanilla Lock Cam? Vanilla Lock Cam maybe better when fighting with high mobility BOSS like Malenia.

I have only played offline so far. Maybe you can report whether it does or not.

It is a bit cumbersome but possible. If the demand is there I'll do it. (I personally didn't mind it as is for fighting Malenia.)

I found that this mod removes camera zooming for large Bosses(Death Bird, Magma Wyrm) in vanilla games, which makes hard to watch their attack patterns. So yes, as for me, I need it.

What do you mean with camera zoom?

When locking large size enemies, like Golem, Troll, the camera will move backward for a wider view.

Really? Do you have a video link that demonstrates that? I mean I had plenty of situations where I would love the camera to zoom out (i.e. increase camera distance) like other games do (Zelda BoTW for example). But it didn't.
Googling that gives me posts of people complaining about a lack of camera zoom when fighting large enemies. Looking at a video for the Death Bird fight shows situations where you don't see the arms or head for some of the attacks when too close. How much zoom are we talking about here?

Yes, it's not so obvious. ERR has ehanced this feature, but seems to make it by regulation.bin file editing, which maybe impossible for dll mods.
Just a key to switch free-lock cam is perfect enough.

That's pretty nifty. Maybe I can try to keep that.

The whole toggle thing is another topic. (I don't take feature requests so by demand I meant like a general problem that needs to be solved rather than a specific solution based on someones personal preferences. Also keep in mind that the scope of this mod is not to be perfect. It is a workaround after all. I would not expect controller-users to use this. With a mouse you can always get better at aiming.)

This should be fixed in v0.1.1. I tested the case that you showed in the video.

(Btw., thanks for pointing that out with the zoom! I totally missed that.)

i'll second the suggestion for a toggle between modded and vanilla, or more specifically a toggle for the setting: is_free_lock_on_camera_enabled

the rellana fight was honestly a little difficult with this mod, because
she so frequently moves around the player character. i ended up quitting
to desktop and changing the above setting to false when i went into the
      messmer fight.

that said i really love this mod, it goes a long way to making the lock-on not feel so clunky.

Changes made in config.ini file don't apply for me. Is it a bug or have I messed up somewhere?

I was trying to make it so that it only locks onto the enemy when I press a button, not automatically.

      What options did you change?

      Context:
There are two relevant options -- is_toggle and target_switching_mode. Disabling the toggle for the lock-on button requires you to press it every time you lose the lock-on. Changing the switching mode to modded_keep will not switch the target automatically anymore.

Hi SchuhBaum, is it possible to use your mod with Mod Engine 2?, without that I would have to give up other mods and I can't do that.

P.S., solved, thanks for the mod  SchuhBaum.

Hi, this was one of my favourite mods in Elden Ring! Being able to rotate the camera while locked on was great, would really appreciate it if you could port or create a similar mod for Nightreign! Thanks!

Am using this mod, it has solved many lock problems. I have one problem still (not with the mod but with the game action). I am a mage and fight 99% of the time using spells. When the boss runs at me, I need to turn away from the boss and dodge/sprint away to put distance between myself and the boss so I can cast another spell. When I turn away and retreat, I lose my target lock on the boss. I then have to hunt the boss down and reaquite it aas the target again. I almost always end up dead trying to reaquire the boss target. I am using the config.ini settings that were provided at download time. I have tried changing a few but nothing I change keeps me from losing the target when I face away fro it. MY Question is "Is there any way to make this mod lock on and stay locked on until the boss dies or I die. Of course I understand it cannot remain locked if I go really far out of range." This loss of target is the most frustrating part of Elden Ring combat for me in an otherwise great game. Thanks for reading and your time. Excellent MOD thanks again.
    ** Edit ** I forgot that I have changed a setting in the config. I have already changed Target_switching_mode = modded_keep.

You don't loose the lock-on when you turn around. You do when you are too far away or the (character's) line-of-sight is interrupted for some time.

I can try to increase the range (if I find where that is set). Maybe that helps.

I added a additional_range parameter in v0.2.1 (see the file config.ini). Maybe increasing it helps.

Is it possible to make this mod work in Sekiro?) I remember there used to be one like this, but it looks like it was removed.

I would also love this mod for Sekiro and DS3. I like this SO much more than standard.

I just know that there was such a mod for Sekiro, but it was removed and now you can’t get it anywhere, it was damn convenient.
