I'm grateful for all your feedback, but I'm having trouble keeping up. Right now, I'm working on a new update to fix the bugs you've been telling me about. I might even add some new features!
If you've got a bug to report, please put it in the Bugs section instead of Comments. And before you report a bug, check to see if someone else already reported it. If they did, just add your info there instead of making a new report.
I'll also be updating the FAQ to answer questions that keep popping up a lot.
So, from now on, please check Bugs before reporting a bug and look at the FAQ in Description before you ask a question in Posts.
If you previously ran Elden Ring and loaded up a save game through Mod Engine 2 executable, the save editor will crash upon importing your ER0000.sl2 file. Quick fix for this, based on my experience today, is to run Elden Ring normally (no mods, use the official executable/app) and load up a save game, then quit out of the app. This will update the ER0000.sl2 file and the save editor won't crash.
The mod I currently only use is the Map for Goblins, thus, my save files don't have modded items. This fix may not work for people using advanced mods that implement new unofficial items since it involves running Elden Ring and loading up a save game unmodded.
Since this one is obviously abandoned without any notice, I downloaded version from github, previously it worked, sadly, it now crashes immediately when loading save file (ER patch 1.16, just like a month ago when it worked). Can anyone make it workable? If not I suggest deleting this thing and stop pretending this is a mod, it's a pile of not working code.
Thanks, that works. Finally, I have my Magic Scorpion Charm. Why is this precious thing locked behind this damn too fast dying NPC? But I feel somewhat bad now :D
Thank you for sharing I was going a bit crazy because I missed getting the crimson hood XD Edit: 11 march, it no longer works for me properly. I can't add items without it crashing on me. Edit 2: Seems like one needed to gain Torrent before using the editor. Otherwise it just crashed on me. Now I can add stuff however I wish XD
FOR ANYONE WONDERING WHY THE EDITOR CRASHES --> Because it is not updated for the DLC. A great guy got it working on GitHub, under pull requests. Here is my comment url (https://github.com/ClayAmore/ER-Save-Editor/pull/73#issuecomment-2427164600). Just go ahead and download the zip file, extract the executable save file editor, and enjoy. I have checked it on the latest Game Patch-1.60. Happy Buidling Tarnished.
For anyone curious, I'll say this works fine for me but some longstanding bugs remain.
If I add some weapons and armor and talismans to one of my builds in Chapel of Anticipation, my other 8 builds located elsewhere in the overworld will warp to the topmost left of the map and fall to their deaths upon my loading in. I wonder whether warping them to roundtable hold will prevent this from happening, but I haven't tried yet.
Also, I only add weapons, armor and talismans because adding consumables, golem arrows or ancient smithing stones will do weird stuff to the builds to which they're added, such as unequipping armor pieces or completely removing items from inventories. Not sure how to avoid this, so I just stick to arms, armor and talismans. Ashes of war seem safe to add, but I haven't tested extensively. I stay away from key items and upgrade materials such as larval tears, bell bearings, cookbooks and golden seeds, aforementioned smithing stones, etc.
Lastly, although this version works for me great, I don't see any options for DLC items or anything else. Not at all a terrible issue of course, but would love to see that support in the future.
All in all this is a great update and big thanks to everyone who's making this possible in between official updates.
So from some testing, the inventory bugs mainly happens with adding items in bulk(not just the bulk option) and seems to be tied to how much progress you have made in the game, as i progressed through the game the loss of items stopped happening for me so i recommend that you make some progress before adding large amounts of items, and one other thing is that you should be careful when moving characters from different saves as i was banned on one account for using a mule i downloaded from nexus which seemed to be made on pc, so be careful when moving characters around.
i was using this one and now its crashing upon loading the save :/ has this ever happened to you? edit: it already works again, dont know what caused it to crash first
Do you know if the function for importing/converting PS4 save files to PC format and vice versa still works on this version? That’s all I ever really used this mod for, to insert my PC characters into my PS4 save files. That alone is an absolute godsend and as far as I’m aware there’s nothing else available for normies like me to do that.
https://github.com/groobybugs/ER-Save-Editor/releases/tag/v0.0.24 seems like some of you bums don't read, this fork has some issues but its better than nothing, you can at least max out rare items and add weapons consumables etc. Key/special items are the only things that are messed up but for the most part this s#*! works.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it bugs out where items go missing etc but everytime it worked for me is when i cleared some of the game and accessed the dlc, ashes of war and weapons/shields/armor yields no issues its when you start adding special/key items is when the inventory bug fucks you up, backup your saves and do some testing i dont know exactly how much progress you have to make before it stops messing up your inventory but you can do some testing yourself it works.

When I load in my save file, the save editor immediately crashes - just shuts down in an instant.
I tried using the latest version from github.
Am I doing something wrong? I literally just try opening the save file and it crashes…
Edit: Nvm, I fixed it haha, I had to update the save game by running Elden Ring unmodded.
