I was super excited to play through again without having to depend on scadutree fragments, but I'm sadly someone for whom modengine 2 stopped working due to the recent game updates. There's no workaround for this currently, correct?
hello. thank u for the mod. i played a lot. can u help to merge some other mods to improve the experenice pf combat?like: long buff, ash of war on anything, sekiro deflect . i just cannot edit Speffect by runebear. help !
Yapped has been deprecated for a long time now and 1.12 finally kept it from functioning at all. The CSVs are for use with Smithbox which is listed in the requirements for the mod if you want to merge it.
thank you very much for making this and for adding csv's and them being separate, btw you think this will have large impact on save and online play when playing without mods? I occasionally play with current char online, none of the mods/edits I'm currently using are permanent in any shape or form this would be the one that might(? I don't know), seeing as it unlocks dlc basically and even the grace. so would like to know if it does, though not the end of the world in the worst case will make a new char.
I haven't run into any checks for grace legality online. When you load up the game, afaik it only checks to see if your stats are legal and if you have any illegal items. Since wrong warping is still in the game, it's technically possible to get to most areas before you've triggered the event flags for reaching them without any modding, so I don't expect them to ever add grace checks unless they fully patch out wrong warping.
The initial grace isn't even really unlocked by the mod, it just piggybacks on the First Step's unlock flag, that's why the grace isn't enabled when you warp to it. Touching it unlocks it for the unmodded game, although since it's the mod adding the grace to the normal Lands Between map that lets you warp to the DLC, playing the save on the unmodded game would remove access to the Shadow Realm from the Lands Between (although you could stay there until you warped out).
First of all, thank you for this mod, this is a great idea to allow replaying the DLC without going through the entire game again! I have noticed a few things that seem less than ideal however
- Mob exp is not scaled, so I'm getting 1000+ exp on trash mobs in the first area, which is way more than you'd get in Lurnia if that's what "Post-Limgrave" means. - I'm not sure how true the "post-Limgrave" difficulty statement is. I tried beating the black gaol knight and my +5 greatsword is only doing chip damage to him, and he hits like a truck. It certainly looks scaled down from the original, but this is way beyond what you would find in Lurnia. Haven't managed to beat a boss but I assume the exp would also not be scaled.
I haven't edited NPCs at all, so the black knights still have just as strong base stats. Scaling starts at Ainsel River which for some reason has lower scaling than the rest of Liurna.
I'm planning on scaling the rune drops, but that requires an actual balance decision instead of just copying values and I wanted to make the option available as soon as I figured out how to do it. Should have it released tonight, scaling down soft and hard rune drops.
Edit: Hard Runes will have to wait until I install more storage. Edit2: Added the soft runes scaling. Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks for the update! Just tried it and the dropped runes seem more reasonable for enemies, although still higher than what you would expect post-Limgrave, especially for bosses. I just beat the Belurat Gaol boss and got 32k exp for it, I don't think you'd get above 10k for a side-dungeon boss in Liurna or Ainsel River.
For the hard runes I don't mind as much, although an possibly easy fix would be to simply scale down the amount of runes the items give. I certainly don't think you should start editing overworld items to change what's actually there.
For the black knights, that makes sense, do you think it's possible to also nerf NPC bosses?
