I wonder if the idiots saying "gitgud" have ever dodged that combo themselves (most likely never) to anyone who wants clarification: under 60FPS the 1st swing has an active frame of 36F~44F the 2nd swing has an active frame of 66F~74F
meanwhile, the tarnished's medium & light roll has 26F iframe, and a recovery frame of 14F (meaning, you can only roll again at 41F) so the first thing we know is that to roll through both swings, you'd have to roll earlier than you would normally do for the 1st swing so that you can have enough time to do the 2nd roll the question is, how early?
if we put the frame data together, we can conclude that you need to roll 11~18F earlier than the 1st swing's active frame to do this which is a whooping 110ms window. damn, that's HUGE, right? (no it's not) but we're not done yet just knowing the length of the window isn't enough. you have to know WHEN it happens so, exactly what does Radhan's animation looks like when the window appears? the below images represent the window from start to end
congratulations! now you know everything you need to know to roll through this combo! surely you will be able to do this in-game now, right?
yeah typically i'd be all for the "git gud" comments lol but it genuinely is a very weird move that is super inconsistent to dodge. i've beaten him a few times already so i'm pretty familiar with all the options. you either have to:
- dodge a couple frames before it hits you so you're still invulnerable when the second swing comes. - backstep it with a talisman. this is fairly easy in p1, but in p2 you're backstepping into lightning so it's not preferred. - roll onto a lower elevation so that the second swing goes over you. this obviously works, but is very dependent on your position. - parry it with the new cracked tear. again, fairly easy in p1, but in p2 you parry and get pushed back into lightning, so it's not perfect.
it's not impossible to beat him normally, but to say this move isn't slightly fucked is just cope.
Not having to worry about this dumb ass attack the whole fight is great. I don't get how this and waterfowl got into the game. Dodging it never even felt rewarding. It always felt like I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Getting 1 shot by it in 2nd phase always felt awful too. It's crazy how much more fun this boss is with this mod, thanks for making it.
I did not have to modify my config at all or change anything about regulation.bin. You have it right, I couldn't tell you what is wrong. Make sure you're launching it with mod engine 2
I had watched a video of a dude complaining about the DLC. He managed to consistently dodge Radahn's roll catcher and no hit him by using the improved bloodhound step Ash of War that was added in the DLC. He still said that this is unfair, and I totally agree! If you can't dodge someone's move by dodging, jumping or moving, then it should not exist, and if you need a specific setup to dodge it, that requires atleast a weapon change, consider your design a fail.
As a semi-hardcore player who beat all FS titles without leveling I was praying that they will not add to bosses in the DLC stupid s#*! like Apostle's double swipe. It's just kills the fun for me. And now i'm here, first time ever cheating in a game. These types of moves should not exist.
A new YouTube video came out today of someone fighting this boss at SL1 with +0 weapons. That being said, they rolled EVERYTHING, so I'm not sure what the purpose is of this mod.

if you think you're better than ONGBAL, be my guest

EDIT: For anyone else who can't get it to work, you need to copy your ER's regulation.bin folder into "ModEngine-2.1.0.0-win64\mod" folder.
Did you have to modify your config_eldenring.toml at all?
What about the original regulation.bin in the game folder did you delete it or rename it?
here's what I have for my folder structure:
ModEngine-2.1.0.0-win64\mod\script\522000_battle.luabnd.dcx
ModEngine-2.1.0.0-win64\mod\regulation.bin
is that right?
thank you and have a great day
