I love it dude, thank you so much for taking the time to make this and most of all share it! <3 I am just going to leave a wishlist kind of thing (because why not and also the squeaky wheels and all).. Sooo, is there a chance that the cape is added to the armor plates? So that you can have this amazing armor you made but also have a cool helmet on :)
I did try to do it that way at first. To do so involves bringing the Rellana armor into the Regonal Knight armor file. Unfortunately, the regional knight rig is not innately compatible with the Rellana armor pieces so the skin weights do not transfer properly and everything explodes. It is possible to transfer all the skin weight data manually then go through bone by bone and make adjustments where necessary. I am, however, not proficient enough with blender to make this look good, so i opted to just use the helmet re-placer instead.
Alternatively, if you want to wear a helmet, you can rename the cape file to "fg_a_5010.partsbnd". Doing this will cause the cape to replace the blindfold (eyepatch option 4) in the character editor.
You can also visit the Isolated Capes Mod and scroll all the way to the bottom for additional options for replacing different face parts instead.
So which one am I supposed to use if I want no cloth, no sash and no leather at the same time (for the male version)? The file names are the same so they overwrite each other in the parts folder?
Not at this time. It is possible to use other mod author's texture work on my models with WhichyBND if you are so inclined. This will work with any recolor mod.
- Unpack both my mod and the recolor mod by dragging the .dcx file onto the WitchyBND application file. You need to keep the two mods in separate folders. - In the folder created by WitchyBND there will be a .tpf file. Use WitchyBND to unpack it in the same way as the .dcx file. Do this for both mods. - Inside the .tpf folder created by WitchyBND will be 3 textures. You want the file(s) that end in "3090_a.dds" or "1500_a.dds" as they hold the color information. In this case, 3090 is the number for Rellana Armor, and 1500 is the number for Carian Kight Armor. - Move the file(s) from the their mod into the .tpf folder of my mod. - Repack the .tpf folder of my mod by dragging the folder onto the WitchyBND application file once again, then repack the .dcx folder in the same way. - Drop the resulting .dcx file into the parts folder in Mod Engine 2.
When the cloth is removed there are fairly significant gaps in the armor that just have no geometry. I added the chain skirt from the Carian Knight set cover the gaps back up. The chain skirt has it's own physics which broke the physics on the tassets and leather. The only way i know to have both is to put the second set of physics in a helmet file, but i am using that slot for the cape. There is probably another way, as i have seen custom physics in other mods, i just don't know how to do it.
I only just got the metal parts on the tassets to behave sort of naturally with manual weight painting in blender, but the leather is just too far away from any rigging points causing it to be very stiff so i gave up on them.
Hi. I like the chest plate how it is, same with the assymetrical pauldrons and elbow guards, But i love the way you have added the mail skirt. Would you make a version with only the cloth and leather removed, and the chain mail skirt added, but boobplate and pauldrons/elbows like original ?
Sorry for the late reply. The best i can do is a version with the boobplate restored. This file is particularly temperamental to work with and i cant really adjust the main armor anymore.
is is possible to make with the leather but no sash or cloth at all? I like the leather but the sash slightly clips into the weapons arm when wielding the light greatsword
Sorry for the late reply, i have been very busy. That said, no way that i know of. The leather physics breaks when i add the chain skirt to hide the gaps in the geometry. I was only just able to get the metal parts of tassets to behave, the leather ends up just too stiff and unnatural.
