I think I noticed an issue, it seems like when I dodge really fast sometimes I roll like I ran and then rolled, because I roll far than usual. Has anyone noticed this?
Thanks for this post mate, I used yours as inspiration and made a config that suits me better if anyone wants to try. Just know that I have a custom controller with paddles so this may not be amazing for regular controllers:
- Enable Steam Controller for Elden ring - Go to Steam Controller Settings and select Edit on the preloaded config - Set "B" to "Start Press" // Removes dodge delay - Set "X" to "B" with "Regular Press" // Makes holding X function as regular sprint - Set "Select" to "Long Press" put the timing to >500 // Holding the Select button for 0.5 Secs will open the Map - Create an extra command for "Select" - Set the extra command to "X" "Regular Press" //Swiftly tapping Select button will use item
These were the best config options I could come up with. Lots of others created issues like sprint delay, accidental dodges etc. Haven't tested this one for a long peroid of time but if there's issues I will come back here and change my post to compensate.
Nice. I pared this down a bit. Same as above for Start Press on B, but add another command to B with Long Press on B. This way, tap B does immediate dodge, hold B does a dodge into a sprint. Less fuss, imo, but we'll see how I do with platforming...
Why don't you just make run clicking down the analog stick like all the other dark souls games?
I can't have my item use on Y (xbox) I've been using X for 3 games.
Would really appreciate if you could edit this, so it's analog stick downpress for run (Xbox) and the rest of the buttons are the same as normal, so I can play normally.
How do you assign something to just dodge in the settings? Even in keyboard, dodge and run are forced to be the same button. Is this something they patched in recently or am I missing something?
I downloaded the V1 and it gives me 2 configurations for steam.. missing information. Since the installation, I'm no longer able to run faster. I deleted the configuration
This config completely messed up things for me. And what is worst, I can't even get rid of it, now.....I had found a PERFECTLY functioning method to achieve the same result, and thanks to YOU I'm no longer able to use it, because no matter what I do it doesn't work anymore after I tried your crap of modification. To hell with this crap of a "mod"
What are you talking about ? this only change the steam input profile, you can easily remove it / change it/ save different profiles to swap as you want or simply download other people profiles or the steam recommended basic layout with only a few clicks
Having a situation were you can't revert changes is strictly impossible If you want basic layout again go to your steam library page > controller configuration > Browse config > recommended > Elden Ring official configuration
Also like Rap3dPitou said " had found a PERFECTLY functioning method to achieve the same result" then why use my config I tested it with both xbox and ps4 controller and it works fine, also had friends test it so this is 100% an issue on your end here
Is this like a troll post? If you solved the issue yourself why would you need to download a mod to replicate what you already have? Beyond braindead trying to blame someone on your stupidity.
Gonna come back here and say, after using this controller setup my game is also refusing to read any other configuration I load in. Randomly today My square button and only my square in this game with this config stop working and now It refuses to change back. Great set up otherwise.
