Version 1.4.0 is now available, which improves language support, fixes some minor bugs and also splits the SE version to the respective mod page here.
For more information regarding the new changes, make sure to check out the changelog and/or mod page itself. If you run into any issues, make sure to check out your load order first and if disabling every other mod doesn't resolve the issue. If you are certain that your issue is tied to this mod, feel free to leave a comment with as many information as possible and I will take a look at it.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to everyone providing feedback, testing or endorsing my mods :)
lol unbelievable indeed. I've never modded Enderal so wasn't aware of the version/mod mismatch (or that a mod composed of SWF files would even have this issue). You live and learn. Thanks for the mod Xeavin
All good, we all make mistakes from time to time. I just find it a bit bizarre how none of other people who have had this issue thought once about rechecking the installation steps or the instructions on the mod page. Anyway, thanks for confirming the cause and have fun playing.
this mod still works, if you don't know how to install this fix in 2023, try replace enderal iterface with inteface from this mod in "Data" folder
Thanks max, your comment really helped me, to help others further I will provide detailed instructions further to max comment.
Mod still works just fine but doesn't play nice when installing it with Steam SE version via a vortex installation. I don't want to use other mod managers so I'm doing a jank installation over the top of the games files, this isn't recommended when it comes to modding skyrim / beth games.
Here's how to install this mod without a mod manager, be warned if you mess this up you will break the games SKYUI. I have only tested this with 3440x1440, but assuming this mod supports you res, this should fix your stuff just fine.
1) First download the mod, have it extracted from zip & opened ready in another window so that we can drag the files into the games folder later. Make sure you open the folder based on the version you want, I used the "SEMain" folder, so i went into the interface folder and had that ready for later.
2) Also create a "backup" folder on your desktop (or somewhere safe) called "Enderal interface backup". Note this is only intended for if you mess up, if you mega mess up with this process, uninstall the game completely and reinstall it, however deleting the interface folder and pasting the backup we create later should fix the problem without needing to do a complete reinstall.
3) go to steam library.
4) Right click the game, click properties.
5) Click installed files > browse. This will open the games files folder. (note that it does not always pop up on windows).
6) Now looking at the games files, look for folder "data", open that folder.
7) Now inside the data folder, look for the folder "interface", copy that folder (DO NOT CUT IT).
8) Paste the interface folder in "Ender interface backup" folder you made earlier.
9) Back in the games data folder, open the interface folder, in here you will see the files that control SKYUI.
10) Copy the files from the window you opened in the first step (including the skyui folder), paste them into the interface folder, this will overwrite the current settings, any pop ups click yes/accept.
11) That's it - the game will now work properly for ultrawide. Note that future game updates may override this fix so you might have to repeat it later.
Minor note: when pressing H for the custom hero menu the game still over streches the ui however everything is still visible despite it looking like some things might have clipped.
There is absolutely no reason to ever manually install this mod. If you insist on doing so, you are on your own when it comes to issues. The mod works just fine when installing with Vortex or MO2. There is also nothing stretched or not working as expected. If you are having issues, it's because you are either not using a legit copy of Enderal SE or not properly installing and deploying the mod.
Great mod! it correct the position of the menu. However, when i press"e" to talk with npcs, the subtitle and npc's name enlarge, and i cant see the whole subtitle. And i play on 2560x1080.
Thanks for the replying. There are no mods on my MO2 conflicting with this mod,and my game language is simplified chinses. All mods about UI on my MO2 are skyui and truehud.
There is no reason to install SkyUI as it is already included in Enderal by default. It should also make no difference whether you install the mod manually or with MO2. Either your load order is messed up or your game files are as I could not replicate this issue.
yep,I dont install skyui after downloading Enderal, and it is just on the modlist. And I dont konw why the mod doesnt work via intalling Mo2.For now,it just work after extracting the files to my data folder manually.
Hey, the mod seems to work, but I am getting SKYUI ERROR CODE 6
Menu file version mismatch for skyui/configpanel.swf. Required version: 5.1 Detected Version: 5.2 SE
I am using Steam Skyrim SE Edition and Enderal from Steam also. No other mods installed. The error only appears the first time I'm opening the ESC menu and the map, inventory, magic etc. You can deactivate most of the version checks in the mod config menu, but not for the main menu.
Hey, so this mod doesn't change the required SkyUI version of the .sfw files files at all. It simply translates all the latest menu related files from Enderal (and SE) to work with ultrawide resolutions. So it shouldn't be causing the issue. Last time I checked, Enderal (and SE) had no update at all, and if it did, it didn't include any changes to menu files. So my guess is its either a vanilla bug, or there is something wrong with your installation since I haven't really heard anyone else report anything alike.
I have installed Enderal SE from Steam, created a new profile with MO2, installed this mod, started a new game, opened every single menu and there is not a single version mismatch message. I also opened the MCM to confirm that the checks are active. Your issue has absolutely nothing to do with this mod.
I am no longer working on this mod because it's complete and works perfectly fine. Every single time I see an issue like this I think: "maybe it isn't a user error", but I get proved wrong over and over again and I am tired of wasting my time.
Verify your game files, make sure you do not have any mods installed manually, do not install SkyUI as it's already included in Enderal and this mod by default, use the proper options on install (SE version with SE game), and you should have absolutely no issues what so ever. If you do, then it's on you to prove that this mod is causing it, as I can obviously not recreate it. I even played the game in simplified Chinese and in other resolutions, it makes absolutely no difference.
It seems like this mod causes speed issues with the UI when it is installed.
All of the UI elements run like 5x as fast as they should and I can, for example, barely read quest pop ups.
Disabling this mod fixes the problem but of course then I suffer from bad 21:9 design again.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that the new Enderal Special Edition uses a new SSEDisplayTweaks version and the game also runs at 90FPS by default. But changing it to 60 doesn't fix the problem.
Seeing as I am the first one complaining about it, it might be only a 60hz+ issue. I have a 144hz screen.
Hmm, the only thing I can think of which might be causing this issue is that the default frame rate of the .sfw file was raised from 30 to 60. I don't have the time as of right now to look into this, but if you want to give it a try, then you need to do the following:
1. Download and open JPEXS Decompiler. 2. Open an .sfw from the mod. 3. Click on "header" which is right under the name of the .sfw file. 4. Click on "edit" at the bottom. 5. Enter "30" into the textbox right from "frame rate". 6. Click on "save" in the top right corner. 7. Click on "ok" at the bottom. 8. Repeat steps 1-7 for enough .sfw files to draw a conclusion.
After this, you can go in-game and check if it had any influence on the speed of messages. If you are not sure if it did, you can try lower frame rate values such as 15. If it didn't change anything, then I have no idea what else might be causing it. If it did, I will definitely publish an update which will resolve this issue.
Wow, that fixed it! I did this with all the swf and gfx files and now everything seems to run as it should. Thanks a lot.
Kinda weird that nobody pointed this issue out yet though. I mean I was barely able to read my quest pop ups... Then again maybe this issue only exists on high hertz screens?
My guess is that they either didn't notice it or didn't care enough to check which mod causes it. I will release an update sometime this month which will fix this issue for everyone. Thank you for reporting the issue and confirming the fix.
The problem still exists. I followed the suggestions here and reduced the frame rate to 30 for the header. Still about 3sec lag when I want to open an inventory. What else could be the problem?
We are talking about how fast a message disappears after it's shown. No one here is talking about any lag when opening the inventory menu. If you have such an issue, it has nothing to do with this mod.
Sadly, I don't think I have the time for that since it would not only require me to remake the whole mod for that specific aspect ratio, but also do it twice (LE & SE). Even though this mod can be pretty easily created, it's a lot of tedious work which I am really not looking foward to a 3rd time. If you want to give it a try yourself, you can check out this article. It's simply a matter of adjusting the header and adding a set number to the x axis of some elements.
Tried it out, and seems to be working pretty good so far. One problem is that in the inventory menu the top is ok, but the bottom part isn't showing (where your armor, carryweight etc) is written. Do you know what I should edit to fix that.
And is it only in the places where "translateX" is 0 that I should paste in my number?
Not entirely sure what you mean since I can't see your result, but if I were you, I would check the sprites. If you have no idea what went wrong, open the original file and the one from this mod side by side and look for any differences. The values in this mod doesn't line up with yours, but the difference will still tell you whether or not it needs to be modified.
And no, you always need to adjust the translate X value, no matter what it was before.
This isn't going to completely solve anyone's problem but I messed around for about an hour last night and got this far with adapting it to 32x9. Now that the original modder has taken care of the hard part of actually knowing what to do to modify the files, it doesn't really seem like going in and adapting it to another aspect ratio is all that difficult. A bit time consuming, but overall doesn't seem too bad and obviously worth it to make the game playable. Seems like the gist of it for me was: (This is starting with the 21:9 files)
- Change the 34,400 value in each "Header" section to 52,000 - Change any xtranslate value that's 4,000 to 8,800 - For xtranslate values that aren't 4,000, it seems like it needs to be messed with to move the dialog boxes/etc around the screen to where you want them. So for example I needed to change sleep/wait dialog box from like 17,000 to 24,000, something like that. Maybe there's another way to do it but that seemed to work for me.
Anyway I think I've got a pretty decent start here, so I guess people can do with it what they please. If anything. It's just my Interface folder from Enderal SE so if you're going to give it a shot I'd definitely fully back yours up first before trying it. One thing I haven't figured out yet that I'd like to do is move the inventory/magic/bartering menu further in from the far left. I've messed with the xtranslate value in both inventorymenu and inventorylists but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Like I have said in another comment below already. Enderal did not have an update for more than 3 years now which is before the last update of this mod. So it's simply impossible for it to not work properly anymore. If you are having issues, then its most likely because you are using another mod that intervenes with it. You can use MO2 to check exactly which one it is. If there is none, make sure your Enderal version is actually up to date. If it still doesn't work, I would need a lot more info to check why because the last time installed Enderal and this mod, which is way after its last update, everything worked perfectly fine. So I don't see how it could be an issue with this mod.
I had this mod running for my 21:9 monitor and it worked great. Now I'm back to 16:9, disabled the Ultrawide mod and I've got the menu working fine but dialogue is totally cut off. Is there a way to either roll back dialogue placement to vanilla, or manually adjust the offset? I can't get thru any conversations because I can't see lines unless they're long enough to stretch across the screen.
If you have disabled the mod, then the dialog placement should be just like in vanilla. If it isn't, then the mod has either not been uninstalled properly or you are using another mod that modifies the dialog menu.
Hi, I haven't worked on anything Enderal related for years now, so I wouldn't know. My best guess would be to open all .sfw files and take a look at the preview. You can also ask the devs of Enderal directly via their Discord.

I had the same issue as I googled a fix and was linked to this page via a reddit post.
Turns out I should have been using the Enderal Special Edition version of this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/enderalspecialedition/mods/862).
Once I installed the correct version everything worked fine.

Wondering, any posibility to make it work with 32:9 resolution, as the inventory doesnt show correctly as it is now.

32x9 WIP

I'm working on properly adjusting this to 32:9 but I can't figure out which .swf is responsible for the Myrad menu. Any ideas?
Thanks anyway :-)
