I love this mod! Dungeon is nice and atmospheric, enemies are appropriately terrifying.
One thought occurred to me while I was playing; was it cut for being non-lore friendly? Iirc, bodies are all given a special burial process of being cremated in Enderal, right? Would make sense not to have a catacombs if that's the case.
I interpreted it more as the catacombs being ancient and as such, predated the law forbidding sepulture in Enderal, which if I remember right was only passed some 30 years ago, so relatively recent. That's also why the Ark catacombs are so big in my opinion, its kind of unlikely that such a huge place would be built to house only 30 years worth of dead bodies considering its an illegal practice by Enderalian noblemen and also considering how small the percentage of the population they would make up in total.
That would be a nice quest hook for this mod actually. As it stands, there sadly is very little reason to break into the temple annex and discover this place as there is no hint as to what to expect. But if there were a little note somewhere mentioning the "forbidden" tombs from before the burial law, we would have good reason to have a look considering Jespar even says that these places usually contain treasure. Or, for the steel crabs among us, a worried Pater Vildas confiding about the worrying sounds of the Lost Ones coming from below? Originally, the dungeon was apparently associated with a quest called "Rampant Greed", of which we can even still watch some early in-game cutscene footage. I wonder how much of that survives in the game files?
Regardless, it's a creepy little early dungeon that feels well-balanced and perfectly lore-friendly to me (save for the weird water ceiling in the last room? That felt more like something from one of the Prophet's surreal dreams.) Highly recommend the Gargoyles mod to go with it for a nice bit of variety. PS: Any friends of Persian popular music out there will have a laugh at the name of the first boss. Probably not intentional, but still.
Very good dungeon. Enjoyed it greatly. Uploaded a couple screenshots with one minor missing texture I noticed.
The only thing that bothers me is I cant seem to find a Dungeon lighting overhaul that gets rid of the overly bright dungeons. The light sources look great but all the backgroung light in places that should be dark kill the mood. I am using a Darker nights and weathers overhaul that works graet outdoors but my dungeons are still bright. I tried som Skyrim SE mods but they do not seem to affect these dungeons.
One question though: description mentions 2 keys - is this correct? Killed 2 bosses, found enchanted armor but didn't manage to find any keys apart from Ritual Chambers one.
the 1 that drops the ritual chambers key? he had no armor on him? Could you maybe give the name then I could just CC it in cause I have combed the entire thing and can't find anything
wait a sec..... you're not referring to the leather cuirass of morning air????? the 1 with the stamina enchant??? if so, then I got it and its early game I'm not mad XD
I found a lighting issue in the room with in picture 2 if you are using a torch or a lantern the farthest squares on either side light up correctly but you have to be walking around the perimeter of the water pit to get that area to light up right
Probably an issue caused by too many lights on the screen which is an engine limitation. I'd need to remove lights in order to fix it. I'll take a look at it.

not too hard but also not too easy! :)
Thanks for adding it to the game!

I'll take a look at it.
I looked at some other dungeons, most of them require even more work but chances are that I'll do at least one more.
