It's a good mod, but I'd still prefer a steampunk mod with animation. Excuse me. As for the effect of the stimulant, both mods have the same effect, in my opinion. Plus animation from the latter.
I tested some questions in this thread using console commands to damage my health and change my medicine skill. Stimpacks DO scale with the medicine skill using this mod.
They also heal damaged limbs through time if applied on crippled limbs (I don't have anything which disables this, like Triage, installed).
This mod would be even better if your player character uses the same stimpak application animation as Sydney, therefore no more telepathically applying stimpaks.
My thoughts EXACTLY, I just ran into her again yesterday and when I saw her animate to stick a stimpack in her leg, I immediately thought of this mod!
You stated that the effects "stack". Now, by stack do you mean that the amount of healing stacks, or the amount of time stacks? meaning...
I can use 3 stimpacks and will gain all their effect over the same amount of time (amount stacks) or... I use 3 stimpaks and they simply run one after another- the effect just lasts longer, meaning that even if the second one would have filled my health, it still used the third one anyhow with no effect. (time stacks)
I know another variation of this mod made it so that the effect would just stop if ur health got filled, but then would continue the effect the next time you take damage.
Also, how do these work on limbs? do they heal each part individually or is the "only-heals-first-clicked" bug in effect here?
I know ur probly gonna say "just use it and see" but id rather know these things before bothering to add another mod. I've had problems in the past with adding mods and then removing them and having it corrupt pc stats in my game save.
I was testing out a repair mod blowing myself up to damage the item. And crippled my left leg completley. When I tried to use the stimpack it would not uncripple and started to damage so I could not fast travel. The leg stayed crippled no matter how much I inject into the leg or taking it through aid. Was at full hp and with a crippled leg. Still taking damage. Had to sleep. Maybe you could put an option to heal crippled legs or not? Not sure if it was intened really.
I totally agree winterfall. Wish there was an animation. I have expanded hotkeys and use a hotkey for stimpacks so whenever I take a little damage I pump it in to start the healing. My current build does not have the fast metab perk. As well as eating, drinking animations. Smoking anim is ok with better living through chems.
EDIT: Heres my fix for the Damage over time bug and cripple heal. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15723
