Make Dogmeat tone down their mood when you are ready to pop some caps.

Known Issues: Affects all dogs in the game, not just Dogmeat.

For anyone versed in modding that comes across this, hit me up if you know how to isolate dogmeat to use independent sound files so it doesn't affect all dogs or at least tip me in the right direction. My knowledge of modding is limited; I've only ever used xEdit to merge conflicts or fix/tweak some things of mods I use, and only a handful of times at that. With my current knowledge, I spent around 7+ hours trying to fix it, and nothing I tried in xEdit would work. I've since downloaded G.E.C.K.; I will see how that goes.

Description

When you have your weapon out, at least in my case when I was playing long ago, Dogmeat would growl. Additionally, while he idles, he huffs, puffs, and blows your psych down. It was annoying the hell out of me. While there was a mod for panting, another that made him quieter, there wasn't one that removed the growling. Now he is forever growl/pant free, with your sanity intact. This mod adds blank audio files for aware stance growls/idle stance panting; growls when he attacks are still present. Works for New Vegas/Tale of Two Wastelands according to some user comments; for what I have planned, if I make a fix, I'll try to retain that.

If the panting is annoying, and you're okay with the growling/want all dogs to growl, try Dogmeat - Passive Speech STFU instead.
If you're okay with growling and panting but find them too loud, try Quieter Dogmeat instead.

Installation

Install using Vortex/Mod Organizer 2; if you haven't made the switch yet, you should switch to MO2. It instances mod installs; to keep it short, it loads mods without them in the game's root folder and has less confusing control over conflicts.

Manual Install/Uninstall
Extract the contents of the archive in your Fallout 3/data folder.

Delete the Fallout 3/data/sound/fx/npc/dog folder.
