Actually, I think I've found the real problem. In a script know as DLC04PlayerArriveTriggerSCRIPT, that is attached to a reference located at the front of the boat, is the variable "set gamehour to 9." I've narrowed it down to this one through process of elimination, by deleting variables to see what makes the game crash. The funny thing is that with it deleted from the script, when I set the game hour to 9 through console command, it also makes it crash. I tested out the command in the capital wasteland, and I also get a crash, BUT only when the gamehour being set, is set backwards to a previous time.

Upon further inquiry I just noticed my timescale was off (Actually I was experimenting with it ) and as I've read before, altering the timescale can cause problems. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gamebryo_console_commands for more info. So I "set timescale to 30" (30 being the default) and now I'm able to set the gamehour to earlier times. Also it seemed to fix the main crash problem that we're all having, even with the "set game hour to 9" variable enabled.
THE FIX (SKIP TECHNICAL MUMBOJUMBO)
So in conclusion, make sure your time scales are set to 30 "set timescale to 30" when traveling to point lookout for the first time. You can set them back to what ever custom timescales that all of you we're using, after the intro event. If that doesn't fix it, erase "set gamehour to 9" from the script. If that doesn't fix it, then we have different problems, because it worked for me. Good luck everybody.
Allright I crashed the first time i travelled to Point Lookout. I googled the issue and ended up here, the mod worked fine until i wanted to go back to the Capital Wasteland and it started crashing everytime. Fortunately I solved the problem: Just deactive the mod and never turn it on again, you will be able to return to Point Lookout without it!
The way you fix these bugs is to just reinstall fallout 3, then install patch 1.7, BEFORE you install the DLC's and then try the game and it should not crash.

Hmm. I can spend two minutes downloading and activating a bug fix mod, or I can spend hours backing up my saves, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, patching the game, copying my saves back, and reinstalling every mod I'm using...
this is a little off topic, but my problem is that it wont even let me rest on the bed. i buy a ticket and activate the bed and nothing happens? if someone knows what the heck is going on please tell me.
I only had the crash problem when I finished Broken Steel. When I started a new save game traveled to Point Lookout no problem no crash. Btw how do you fix the pink textures on the hand on some clothing and armors? Anyways good mod helped with my very old Broken Steel save game. ^^
Yes, i know how to warp to any location via console commands, but i think its easier to load a single esp to solve this bug in advance of receive a Bethesda´s patch for PL...this fix only removes bugs in travel to PL from Wasteland.
hmm First time I have played point Lookout all was well except for the prob of not being able to save...I have this lil problem now. Such as travelling to the Blackwell manor either by fast travel or on foot. Same goes when i travel to the South West Corner of the Map. Flipping annoying.... didnt have this problem before when first started but noo I do. Maybe this mite make things easier. Spank you very much.
Also for any of you that are still stuck in Point Lookout. Just hit the `/¬ button to open up the console and type> player.moveto 3b46 and hit enter. You will end up back in Megaton, right next to Lucas Simms, the town Seriff. I chose him because, Megaton is central in the wasteland..(whoops if ya nuked it then ya screwed. If ya did type in -> player.moveto c6e9b and whoosh...straight to the water begger outside Tennpenny tower. Ok? Cheers.

This is what fixed the bug for me anyway.

I wish I could endorse it now, but it's been less than an hour since I downloaded it. (?)
