You can disagree all you want, but this is a direct modification to the game to give the player a set of overpowered power armor early game. In no way are you adding a new set of armor to the game (scratch-made or otherwise), therefore this does not belong in the armor category, rather, the cheats and god items category.
Cheating or not, I never really got why the power armour at the beginning didn't have the military paint (maybe it rusted away?). Either way the term cheating is highly subjective, after all any mod that alters the game in any way can be considered "cheating". I can also see that a t51 is justified at the very beginning of the game if you choose to start off at a higher level, or simply increase the difficulty beyond survival. At any rate, it's a mod like any other and if people don't want to use it they are free to not do so. I mean I'm probably not going to but it's a nice addition to the game for those that do want to use it.
As for category... it's hard to tell, due to a lack of diversity in categories available it probably fits best in here. Otherwise I would put it in maybe "Gameplay effects and changes" or due to the increase in power so early on the "cheat" category. Still though, placing stuff in categories is quite difficult unless you make something that is clearly defined within one.
I don't see this as much of an increase in power. Yeah, the T-51f is a tough piece of kit, however you're ignoring one key point. The first fusion core you get only has half a charge, and that's -maybe- enough to get you through Concord and back up to Sanctuary, assuming you don't sprint or use the jet pack at all. Great while it lasts, but it doesn't last for long.
What I don't get is why people don't realize they don't have to use/download mods they think give them overpowered items. Leave them on the ground or don't install the mod at all instead of griping about it to no end.
Gotten to the roof at the Museum Of Freedom and while there's some T-51 upgrades in a toolbox (that I can't find in my inventory after having picked them up), the power armour carries T-45 parts as before. Could be a mod conflict as I have a ton of power armour mods.
First Power Armor I encounter is the one Between Robot Disposal site and the Olivia Satellite Station next to the crashed vertibird. I always go there first for the armour and the fusion core at the disposal ground
So not an expert but have a few mods under my belt and support a couple others.
Feedback. By adding the second Tmp filter to the "F" Table, every "F" suit of T-51 will have Military paint..
Lore wise that kind of makes sense, but it means your mode will effect a good deal of the game. A cleaner way would be making a new T-51 Leveled list and adding the keyword Military to it, then add the original T-51 list to that (only item in the list) and putting the new list on the frame instead.
I made it T-51 because there will be billion T-60 available from the BoS. Plus I don't like how Bethesda wants to rub their power armor designs in your face with their recycled design.
Weeell, the T-60 is actually a T-45 set specialized in airborne units (i.e. paratroopers) It was meant to be lighter, and more maneuverable than the T-45 yet still have the structure to withstand a huge free-fall.(hence the weird armor) The T-51 was developed after the T-45 and T-60 and was never actually used in combat afaik, so the T-51 is actually the most advanced pre-war power armor set lore-wise.
Personally, I don't think it is bethesda rubbing it in when they gave the BOS T-60 power armor (and thus made it more common than clean water inadvertently) I think it makes sense to give them the Airborne armor since they are based in a huge zeppelin. The only one that really should have different armor is Danse since he didn't get there by airship afaik.
i dont think all that lore mumbo jumbo has anything to do with the original Interplay's fallout lore. As far as I know only t51 existed, then x01 was made at the enclave. Then bethesda came in and said "look at all these new power armors that look like crap!" and tried to sell them to us inside new lore.
The T-45 power armor was the first version of power armor to be successfully deployed in battle. But since it was the first iteration of power armor it suffered from mobility, heat and power issues.
The T-51 was later produced as a successor to the T-45 incorporating more advanced materials and mechanics and it saw great success in the Anchorage Reclamation and eventually became standard issue for the armored infantry regiments. Unless you're implying that the T-60 never saw combat you'd most likely be right since it was deployed domestically before the bombs dropped, but we can't be certain of that since it isn't directly explained. The T-51 however saw plenty of combat.
The T-60 series of power armor was designed to eventually replace the T-51 in the U.S. military arsenal. Incorporating design elements from the earlier T-45, the T-60 was deployed domestically among U.S. Army units just prior to the dropping of the bombs.
No idea where you got that tripe about the T-60 being used for airborne units, it just sounds like bad headcanon that you've made up, it has nothing to do with the Prydwen either. Unless you can source that information I'll just pass it off as crap.
The reason for the BOS having all those sets of T-60 armour is left unexplained but I can imagine it would be something like them locating a military production facility housing lots of suits, but again that detail isn't ever explained.
The reason because the BoS have T60 everywhere is...BETHESDA. Like I said, they tryn ta sell us their new designs that look like crap. maybe tryin ta eclipse the work of interplay or just to take a dump on the lore
Am I the only one here who actually likes the look of the T-60 armor? I think it looks more advanced, more developed, and more polished than T-45. Like "the next step up".
Bethesda owns fallout now, they decide what the lore is, and their lore is law. AFAIK they haven't gone against interplay fallout lore.
Anyway, the paratrooper thing wasn't headcannon, though i was wrong about it being solid lore. I found where i had read it and apparently it was from an amateur loremonger trying to figure out the purpose of the T-60.
Imo it does make sense though, since the T-60 power armor is the only armor shown in-game with jetpacks (magazines, signs, etc.)

Just installed this yesterday because why the hell not.
Noticed a compatibility problem with "Buildable PA Frames", though. Namely, the Concord frame no longer shows as scrappable, and thus I've had it reset on me twice now. Lost a full set of X-01 Mk VI to that damn glitch.

Thanks for the upgrade

Anyway, just my two cents.
Pretty much all of this is wrong or just made up.
