Hi, I logged in for the first time in about 2.5 years.
Load Accelerator seems to still work and be effective with NextGenUpdate (1.10.980.0.1).
I don't know if this mod is worth using in the future, but there seems to be some confusion on how to apply it, so I added a few things to the description. Also added Troubleshooting and FAQs article. Thank you to everyone who posted information.
I hope that the loading time issue will be officially resolved.
I dont know what Bethesda did or why they haven't fixed it yet, but every since the next gen update on PC, the load times have quadtrupled. This mod makes loading times seconds again without all the extra steps and scripts.
This mod is awesome. Shortened my load times to seconds from minutes and it is super simple to install. Highly recommend it to anyone that is frustrated with load times in the latest version of FO4.
Still works great. Make sure you don’t have vsync enabled or frames limited - the mod only works if it can let the frames max out while loading the next area.
I need max frames on because without it my game is sped up running, dialogue and etc so I have no idea what to do it's either I play with long loading times or with my gameplay sped up.
Edit: This is by the far the best mod there is for FO4 if you have loading screen delays like I did from the Next Gen update!
Very frustrated I cant seem to get this to work. This is so annoying that the loading times are so absurdly long!!
Edit: ok so I used Vortex to install the mod, and I realized that I instead needed to extract the mod in the Fallout 4 exe folder location. It works great!! Thank you!!!!
With my 165Hz monitor, I had issues where the game was stuck at 55 FPS with iPresentInterval set to 1, which felt incredibly slow and laggy. I tried fixing it by setting iPresentInterval to 0, which made the game run at hyperspeed, before capping the FPS to 60 in the NVidia Control Panel, but that caused load screens to take 2-7 minutes. Thanks to this mod, the game now runs great - 60 FPS during gameplay and over 300 FPS in load screens - just by tweaking the mod's .ini file as suggested (to cap FPS), with no changes in the NVidia Control Centre, and the game's V-Sync turned off via iPresentInterval=0.
Before this mod, the "NextGenUpdate" made load screens even worse and broke my FPS. I'm glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore and can enjoy the game smoothly now!
Wow what a difference! I feel like a dummy for getting to level 50 before bothering to even check if 1-5 minute load times exiting buildings was normal. Constantly alt+tabbing back and forth between the game and a browser, waiting for it to finish. The dread I felt when I accidentally opened a door to the Commonwealth when I didn't mean to. Easy instructions and it works great. Thanks so much!
Running on 1.10.984 with F4SE and over 100 mods, can confirm that this works as described. I'm not sure why some people are having issues, they may have something overriding FPS Limit/VSync settings. But this has been a Legendary-tier fix, even fixing some of the hard stuttering issues I've been having when chunks are loaded (which I think is due to NPC editing mods I have, according to others). Thank you so much!
Absolute hero. I didn't even know this existed and had made my peace with the long load times on my playthroughs way back when, chalking it up to my GPU and storage. Started getting the same issue on my nvme and it set off alarms. Did the google thing, ended up here. Thank you.
