Would it be possible to create a new NIF that has the effect and something else so that you can remove it by selecting it? Perhaps something small and 99% alpha?
Is thre a possibility to alter the light emitted by the workshop objects themselves to have these effects? I don't want to double up on lighting effects and make everything too bright, nor overcomplicate things in decorating settlements.
Hmm, I am currently trying to do so, but I'm just starting my adventure with FO4Edit and I have no idea how to make something like this, but I will try to. Edit: I made a one light for a test and now i know why Homemaker lights don't have shadows. The effect is crappy and not even near the quality of these effects.
If you can make these nice shadowed lights to be just.. invisible light sources, why can they not also be applied to objects, like the vanilla lamps and industrial lights?
Or is that what you're still working on trying to do?
Hello! So how does this work? in settlement crafting menu there is a lighting effect, and the requirements are empty and nothing is created, how it to apply? Thank you!
It's absolutely normal that there are no requirements, it's a light after all. To rawkus1977- it's too bright to see the shadows and the effect. To kopasov- Go inside home plate or any interior cell and make sure that it's dark and try to place it then. If you will not see the effect, I will look into it.
I don't know, here in haste in Sanctuary in the house set the lamp on the street the night, turned on the lamp, no shadow nowhere, and turn on / off the lamp, as usual. http://jpegshare.net/3a/ae/3aae0f241f86af78e3c21a6706589732.jpg.html
The brightness was not the issue, the issue was that these were not place-able...no option to place(as seen in the screenshot).
However...I entered God Mode(tgm) and Bam, there they are...the effects are now visible, however....still not place-able the "build" option is greyed out.
EDIT: TGM will get the light effects to be place-able, but only after scrolling past them, to something that IS place-able and then coming back. At least they work for me now very nice effects once I got it working.
Settlement lighting is definitely a problem I will be tracking this to see what you come up with when the geck releases, I would love to see you get this all worked out.
some subtle colors would be sweet. I'm really into making huge settlements, and being able to throw different splashes of color with shadows that really stand out from a distance would be awesome...

Question: Since the Creation Kit has been released for Fallout4 when will you update the mod so that the effects become scrappable ect.?
Suggestion: add Fluorescent flickering effect (or the effect when removing fusion core from generator.)
