For anyone wondering, as of 5/26/24 this DOES work with the next gen update. Installed on ADA she can hack and lockpick.

I don't know if this is even possible, but I've noticed that I cant get this to work on Codsworth... Is this an "oversight" ... or not possible? Something that may have slipped your notice?

If it could be done, I would greatly appreciate it.. I love the Cods.. but having created bots function "better" .. has me leaving him in Sanctuary.

I've noticed that is the case with Vanilla fallout 4. Codsworth just doesn't want to unlock or hack, maybe it's a Mr Handy thing?

This module is a bit useless because the lockpicking minigame isn't that hard. The only reason you'd have it is because you may not have the full perk and there would be a master lock that you want to open.

IT allows you to pick locks above your level, therefore it isn't useless.

It basically saves you 7-8 perk points of levels you had to invest into hacking and lockpicking.

I've run into an error where my bot stops acknowledging hack/pick lock commands. The only way I've found to get it to behave again is to dismiss it, choose a new follower, then bring it with me again... and even that's only a temporary fix. I don't know if it's an issue with this mod or just a generic game bug, but I thought I'd bring it to your attention in case it is.

This is a known game mechanic. If your bot (ADA is 100% proven to do this) fails to unlock, it will not try to unlock again. This is not the mod, but the way Bethesda coded the bots.

    Dear Everyone,

As of 10/8/2017, this mod DOES work 100% with the latest version of Fallout 4. I just tested it with ADA on master locks with both a console and a door. I have over 260 mods loaded and not one conflicts with this one. https://youtu.be/HnxiCctbbNc

    TL; DR
    THIS MOD STILL WORKS

I haven't been using it (or even playing, honestly) in a while. Is it fully broken right now or something? I'm unable to check right now and won't be able to mess with anything for a couple weeks.

It seems to glitch out on occasion for some reason. I have no idea why. MOST of the time, though, it works fine.

i just installed it and it works fine for Ada, but Curie doesn't like hacking or picking locks at all.
not sure if curie is even allowed to do it, because the vanilla hacking and lock picking mods can't be applied to her at all.

if you got the time, could you maybe have a look? =)

Yeah, if the vanilla hacking/lockpicking mods can't apply to her, this mod definitely won't work. I had no idea that was the case.

First, let me say that this has come in very handy for me, and been well worth the download. Endorsed. So, even if you don't/can't help with "two," I'm still going to keep using it.
Second, is there any way to boost the robot's chances of actually unlocking higher-level locks/terminals?

I can't find any way to edit that with FO4Edit, no. Either I'm missing something or we'll have to wait for the GECK.

Awesome mod! Very much needed for a no lock pick or hack charecter that still wants to have fun looting and exploration, but does not seem to work with sentry torso.

I just stuck a Sentry Torso on Ada to try it and it works fine. The command only says "inspect [item]" instead of hack or lockpick, but they'll do it if you just command them to "inspect" the terminal/box/whatever.

Yeah I know I just says inspect but I doesnt even say that for me w/ the sentry torso.

I would love to see a "super mod" that combined all effects, but cost a lot of materials and need maxed out perks. The DLC is seriously lacking in high level robot content.
  10. At least make it somewhat difficult to make, the modules separated are already overpowered, so a combination should be worse to get in my opinion.

Tracking for now in till it gets updated to make it more balanced.

Any ideas? Only thing I can think of is making it require a Makeshift Battery (to compensate for increased power usage) since those are kinda hard to find most of the time.
[edit] There, I put up a version that requires a makeshift battery as well as the locksmith 3 and hacking 3 perks. How's that?

Personally I'd do a high Science! requirement in lieu of any lockpick or hacker, as most people would do this to not need those perks, just like taking Nick along in vanilla. Then on top of that make it more expensive in terms of components, mostly more adhesive and rare metal.

There, I changed the balanced version to require Science! 3, 4 aluminum, 2 ceramic, 10 circuitry, 5 fiber optics (since the robots use that weird laser thing to do it), 14 adhesive, 4 gold (high quality wiring! ), 6 rubber, and 2 makeshift batteries (increased power load). Better?
