This is great but would it be possible to have it create/overwrite an exit save instead? I just want something to combat exit saves not working some percentage of the time when I quit the game. Would it be easy enough for me to edit the script for this functionality?
Exit saves are handled different in the engine and does more often then not fail on a modded game. There is an F4SE mod that doesn't disable this completely and stick to Quick or Manual saves. If your playing on Survival load a mod that allows you to do some sort of save.
Works perfectly in June 2020, a must have to balance the stupidity of the guy that made the survival mode so stupid and frustating, this just needed to be a test for your tactical and organisation skills, not a f***ing pain, nice job, Endorsed!
Mod works great still. If it's not working then your game likely just isn't loading the script. You can extract it with this program (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/?)
"I have an idea", said the designer at Bethesda, "Let's add an interesting difficulty mode to our game!" "Great idea!", said the other designer. "We'll make it really hard, and we'll make it so that you can only save in a bed!" "That's pretty unique!" "Yeah!" "That way, because our game crashes 30% of the time when a loading screen comes up, players will have 30% more gameplay!"
This is probably a dumb question, but does it have to be a new game for this to work? Or maybe, do I have to add the ba2 filename to plugins.txt? I've googled how to install mods but instructions are from when you could just change the ini and s#*! worked. :/
It seems like the saves aren't actually autosaves. The autosaves in the non-survival game get overwritten by new ones, to keep the save count down. I find myself having to go through my old saves and delete old "autosaves" made by this mod.
Although, it's still better than losing progress. With a game this complex and bugg, and mods on top of that? No way am I going without being able to save. And saving on transitions, including fast travel, is an essential. Seriously, fast travel has a habit of putting your right in the middle of a group of enemies. Maybe that's why they disabled it?
See that code in the header image? That is the entirety of this mod. If the saves being made aren't autosaves then it's not this mods problem, and is instead your game.
