Description
This is a player home, (emphasis on *PLAYER*) in the same way Home Plate is. It's not a settlement, nor did I design it as such. It functions exactly the same as Home Plate, therefore what you can build in HP you can build here. If you're looking for full settlement features, I'm sorry but you won't find it here.
Player house which you can furnish yourself, like home plate in DC.
But first you must brave a ghoul infested dungeon crawl to find a key. I'll put the location of the key at the bottom if anyone is having a hard time finding it.
Features a teleportation system you can use to teleport to the house anytime you want, and then back to your previous location.
Teleporter uses a portable holotape to take with you.
SPOILERS, yeah?
The previous owner of the house was a disgruntled Institute scientist who left them and was looking for a place to hide and conduct his own research, when he came upon this place. His first project was to rebuild a teleportation system similar to the one the Institute uses. He managed to complete it but due to unforseen events had to abandon it. But not before using it to escape again, and luckily leaving it fully intact. How long ago was this? Who can say. But then, along comes the Sole Survivor and claims it for themselves.
===Spoilers over===
Won't be just as easy as waltzing in through the front door however.
There are 2 apartment complexes. The first one you'll have to run through to find a key. It's full of ghouls, nooks and crannies, and is quite creepy. And dark.
Once you've found the key, head up to the top and out the door. This will take you out onto the roof. Map marker is here once you get there. Straight across is the second apartment and you can open it with the key.
And there we go, your new home. The top level is the homely apartment, which you can do up to your hearts content. I left it sparse so you can do it up yourself, but there is some decor. Up to you whether you scrap, move or keep it. Below it is where the teleporter is located, and its creators terminal. I'll leave it to you to read through it, there are quite a few entries and instructions on how to use the teleporter. Inside the terminal is a holotape you can eject, and use to teleport back to this room, on the nearby pad. Please read the instructions on the terminal. Oh and forgive the language, he was quite the potty mouth.
There are some places in the apartment you cannot build anything. Namely the stairwell (the steps themselves, flatter parts are ok) and in the teleporter room. (You can build on the lowest level, but you'll need to scrap the junk) Though you can place things on the walls, just not floors or ceiling in these parts. Experiment yourself where you can build anyway. Mods like Place Anywhere (brilliant mod and highly recommended) will probably override this, or any other mod that does things with the building system, like scrapping and building extra things. But the way I designed it, I only made it possible to build (mainly) in the player apartment, the hallways and parts of the stairwells.
Companions will follow you into the both apartments. And all containers are safe, (In the player home apartment that is, top level only) I ensured every one does not respawn. There's more down below, some of which are the same as the buildable ones.
Before I forget, you can still scrap most things though. (some things you can't, like the teleporter!) However, and I mean it's up to you, but I kinda like to leave things like the kitchen alone. You can scrap the shelves and cabinets, but once they're gone that's it....there's no way using the building system to rebuild such things. So I like to leave things like that. But as I said, it's all up to you. Just be careful what you scrap. Fridge is not scrappable.
Some videos for thine eyes, thanks guys
Key Location (Don't read if you want to try and find it yourself)
First in the ghoul infested apartments, work your way to the top. There will be an elevator and a switch to open the doors. Fall down through the elevator shaft and open the elevators ceiling hatch. Once inside look for a duffle bag. The key is in there. Then open the door and work your way up to the top again, and out up onto the roof where you'll be able to use the key and enter your new player home.
