5/7/24 Update: v1.41 simply updates the included F4SE loader to v1.3. (AME is still v1.4, for those wondering). Just reinstall and you're good.
5/6/24 Update: v1.4 AME is out and solves the issue of unmodded and modded saves not being displayed correctly in the main menu. v1.71 DLL Loader is out and resolves AME displaying NO. Also, it should help compatibility with any overlays/injectors/stuff.
PSA for Steam Deck Users (ShadowMan maybe sticky this if you have time?)
Install the latest version of this mod, and then set this as a launch option by being in Gaming Mode, clicking the Cog Icon -> Properties
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command% EDIT: Apparently one Steam Deck User has reported that this causes Fallout 4 to crash, however removing the " around "winmm.dll=n,b" caused it to work correctly. Please try that if the original launch option doesn't work
This will load the mod correctly and it will work as expected. Happy Playing!
Don't forget to add in SteamDeck=0 to the launch options so that the launcher loads to be able to change graphics settings.
For those wondering what WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" does, it simply tells proton to not use it's built in winmm.dll and instead use the patched the one provided in the game folder.
My game wont launch with this WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command% added to the launch command. also tried removing the " as mentioned. any idea? all the files are in the right location
I wasn't so lucky, I did the installation manually as it is in the pictures and using Vortex, but my game still keeps recognizing Mods. I even used the command cited by lietuv1s on Linux, but it didn't work either? Any idea what it could be?
You downloaded the latest version and installed it manually. In Steam, for "Fallout 4," under "Settings" in "Set Launch Options," enter this: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winmm.dll=n,b %command%So far so good. Now you need to download an older version of this mod, or rather, the old/other version called DLL loader. In that folder, you now move the "winmm.dll" file to the main folder of Fallout 4, which is: "Z:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4." After that, move the last file, "DllLoader.ini," into the Z:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Plugins\Sumwunn folder.
Certainly, here's a more structured version:
Download and manually install the latest version of the mod.
Go to "Fallout 4" in Steam and select "Settings."
Click on "Set Launch Options" and enter the following: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winmm.dll=n,b %command%
Now, download an older version of this mod, known as "DLL Loader."
In the downloaded folder, locate the "winmm.dll" file.
Move the "winmm.dll" file to the main folder of Fallout 4: "Z:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4".
Find the "DllLoader.ini" file [also in the oldest version folder to find] and move it into the directory: "Z:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Plugins\Sumwunn".That's it. Now it will workI hope I could help
This worked thank you I Tried Using F4SE and it fails horribly Manual installation of this Mod works Desktop Debian 12 Steam installed via Debian Repo Protontricks installed via flatpak DLL Installed manually Package installed via MO2
Extract all files inside the top-level folder in the ZIP to your game folder (where Fallout4.exe is located).
Run the game using f4se_loader.exe.
To confirm it is working, open the console with the tilde (`) key and type getf4seversion. This will display the version number of the current F4SE build.
Downloaded F4SE version through Vortex and could not get mod to work, achievement warning and [M] kept appearing. After a couple game restarts, achievement warning went away, but still had [M] and could not get achievements.
On a whim, downloaded the DLL Loader under OPTIONAL FILES to grab the winmm.dll file from it. Put it in same folder as shown in 3rd image (DLL Loader Path). Tested it with the "Time Out" achievement, works perfectly.
Thank you, wasn't too sure on how to get the DLL to work but after putting the winmm.dll file where the Fallout4.exe is, it worked flawlessly. I recently re-downloaded Fallout 4 and got back into modding it but I was unaware of the Next-Gen update and it broke a bunch of my previously installed mods. F4SE seems to be affected since the MCM isn't working either. If you have any tips for that issue, please let me know. Otherwise, I thank you for your advice good sir.

I DIDN'T try to use the quotation marks at all, but it works great now
Thanks!

However the game does crash when attempting to lower FOV via console
I Tried Using F4SE and it fails horribly Manual installation of this Mod works
Desktop Debian 12
Steam installed via Debian Repo
Protontricks installed via flatpak
DLL Installed manually Package installed via MO2
Then I found this
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm,version=n,b" %command%
It just worksAchievements Mods Enabler works well for me.

I have installed: True Storms, Vivid Weathers, Achievements Mods Enabled, Retestured Terminal and F4SE.
Should I ignore that message and everything will be ok or it's buggy?
