What's New in 8.2? -Attempted to fix caravan guards spawning without cloths
Install options: Choose One... - 4 to 1 adult to children ratio - 4 to 1 adult to children ratio, mostly female settlers - 4 to 1 adult to children ratio, mostly male settlers - 8 to 1 adult to children ratio - 8 to 1 adult to children ratio, mostly female settlers - 8 to 1 adult to children ratio, mostly male settlers - Optional - Posters - Optional - Children in Bunker Hill - Optional - Children in Goodneighbor
Other Notes... I do not have time to support mod conflicts, this is why I created the fully compatible "Simple Settlers" mod. If you choose to try OotC with Better Settlers (or similar), you do so at your own peril. My advice, always load Orphans last as it was designed with compatibility in mind. That said, all settler mods modify the exact same files making compatibility difficult.

It may be a bit late for me to be reporting this, but I had a situation where one of the children added by the Goodneighbor plugin took the place of the crowd NPC who Hancock offers some Jet to during his speech from The Third Rail's balcony. The kid has no actual voice lines for that interaction obviously, and I only realized it happened due to the fact that I play with subtitles. I know this is a known issue with child NPCs and settlers not having dialogue for a lot of stuff already, but felt it was a niche enough and weird situation to bring up.
As much as I like the mod, I'm probably going to ditch that particular piece of it for any future playthroughs just to avoid something like this happening again. Despite how drug-positive Hancock is portrayed to be I don't think he'd actually be cool with dealing drugs to children.
Is this mod still being looked after??? I hope so because i am stuck and was directed here. I DL'd this mod a while ago and kids start showing up but most my girls look like boys because they all have the same face and mohawks. I Dl,d Orphans of the Commonwealth - Hair Fix as mine did have the issue the fix mentioned. It also says it Makes all the kids hairstyles included in OotC available to Looksmenu for HumanChildRace, so you can give your child settlers new haircuts. Now i tried this before and after the dl of his mod. the slm refid 1 i see the hairs but nothing changes when i choose another it stays the mohawk.
Now, i am new to this whole pc gaming.. over from PS, so i am sure i am doing something wrong. Any help to make the girls look like girls would be appreciated. Please and Thanks for any assist.
Just wanted to know if anyone and had the same issue or a solution for this. I installed with this mod a couple years ago but only played with it for a little while b4 unistalling, but I still notice children settlers in my game even after a new playthrough? I checked in my files and I dont see the mod but the children are still showing up and replacing adult settlers.
The problem you had with naked child mercenaries is that the NPC caravan escorts are drawn form the Settler pool, and Unique NPCs had the same problem. I solved it simply by using Child Outfits along with AWKCR/AE, which has the Keywords that convert any outfit to a different nif (something these 'modern' mods completely lack), including the ones used by the Child Outfits mod. Thus, when the game tries to put the adult outfit on them, the mods do their thing and replace it with the kid version of the outfit. I miss the days when everyone understood the sheer beauty of how AWKCR made all the mods work together perfectly. Without all those keywords working in the background, you get naked kids (or you could just patch all the adult outfits to also work on the child race... but then things could get 'spicy' if you use a body replacer mod, like CBBE). There were a couple of outfits missing, and I just added them to the kids outfit mod without even bothering to convert, so the kids looked a little 'chunkier' than normal (basically, a shrunk-down adult vanilla body). I had planed to use outfit studio eventually to adjust them, but then my game stopped working and I didn't play for 2 years. I plan to make a version of AWKCR/AE that works as an extension of NEO, to try and restore so many of the features we lost with the stripped-down versions of the 'Holy trinity' of mods (in order to alleviate needing patches for every single old mod that still uses AWKCR/AE). I Have a plan... lets just see if its doable. LOL
Do what I do - for all the CC's I used a lot, I created BAT files. Use Notepad and type "OpenActorContainer 1" and save it in your (FO) DATA as 'Trade' (or whatever else floats your boat). Now when you want click on the NPC in console and just type "Bat Trade", or whatever short word you named it. Saves a lot of time trying to remember every single command, and much easier to type.
I love this mod, but after reading through the first seven Comments pages (since Nexus has disabled Search…), I realise I'm not alone in experiencing the dark face bug, which is affecting the children added to Good Neighbour and Bunker Hill. On the upside, glad it's not just me (I thought I'd done something wrong), but it would be amazing to have 2K textures, especially since so many people use them now. Given how jarring the dark faces are, and given I really like having 2K textures for the adult NPCs (because they don't look as rubbery/plasticy), I'm not sure what I should do.
So true. They all deserve a loving home and raising them to be productive members of society gives them hope for a better future.
The biggest problem is that the Raiders, Gunners, Super Mutants, and Institute indiscriminately pillage the Commonwealth, making security all the more essential. Make sure that you have plenty of fortifications ready.
I have a ghoul child, the only child who's showed up so far, and he never stops telling Nora that he's keeping an eye on her and makes fun of her vault suit. Can't say whether this works for non-ghoul children ... yet ...
I wanted to give something back, so I uploaded a patch that addresses the bald spots issue with some of the hairstyles and makes the haircuts available to HumanChildRace via Looksmenu. You can get it here https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/89897

OpenActorContainer 1
Hit Enter
This should allow you to trade with the child, or any other NPC.

thank you very much for this mod. After a long time I've installed it again and it seems to work nice.
I would like to suggest you to add voices to the children, even, if it's just vanilla "phrases".
It seems so strange and out of place that none of the children say a single word.
Please keep my suggestion in mind when working on the next update.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Best regards.
