I love the retexture and the new chems, only issue was that I use use the FallUI item sorter, there is a patch out there: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18412?tab=description But for anybody using it you need to fix the pills. The author has put brackets( instead of Square brackets[ on the pills. It is a quick edit, you could also just use FO4Edit for everything, but to each their own.
Have now played with the textures and they are awesome! One little - I have to point out.. Why there is the same textures with all the Mentants?? This would be perfect if the different tastes would have some varieties (Berry, Orange, Grape).
I thought you only get the other flavours if you make them using ordinary mentats, so you would be using the original mentats box to put the new ones in. Otherwise, a texture of a mentats box with a piece of tape with "Berry" written on it would make sense for alternate textures.
Have you ever noticed there are no felt pens in this game? What are people using to write these labels with?
Ok you have a point but also it’s wrong point because there were different tastes of Mentants also before the war so naturally the company would have labeled them differently. It’s just matter how you think of it :)
Know this is old, but the issue with adding unique textures for other varieties of certain chems (buffout or otherwise) is that you have to make an esp and edit the chems (such as Chem Redux does) due to Beth linking them to all use the same default texture/mesh. It'd be nice, but introduces incompatibilities (and then you have to deal with Nexus users who can't/don't/won't patch their LO).
Yeah I have found the Chem redux mod after I made that last comment and am using it for my mentants now. Some of these are very great textures in this one so might mix them up a bit in future. Daytripper is one of my faves on this one :)
EDIT: ANd yes I have learned a lot since that old comment and see now that the Mentants are made to use the same textures so it really requires some esp files to incorporate them use separate ones and issue with compatibility may arise but luckily I know how to fix those issues to my load orders so no biggie
True that they are pre-war, but that inconsistency is Bethesdas fault (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mentats_(Fallout_4)) if the mentats in the game should be originals and not generics.
You do know that Brain Fungus is listed as an ingredient to Mentats? So, if Bethesda noted the Brain Fungus as an ingredient to mentats and mentats are clearly prewar, then the Fallout Wiki makes sense when it describes brain fungus, "An edible mushroom, which is slightly irradiated. Used in the recipe for Mentats." The mushroom being based on Gyromitra esculenta, which is evident when you look it up. So it seems from Bethesda that the Brain Fungus mushroom existed prewar and is now slightly irradiated...POST-fallout. The mod author didn't make a mistake, Bethesda didn't make a mistake...you just lack the ability for critical thinking.
I ran into an issue with the Daytripper chem. For whatever reason when I try to transfer Daytripper out of my inventory and into another container for storage, my game crashes to the desktop. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice with NMM and both times the game crashes while trying to move Daytripper specifically. I don't have a clue how a texture replacer would cause this, I have no other mods that touch chems in any way and I'm not running any UI mods either. Strange. Until I fix is worked out I have to suffer with vanilla s#*! textures.

On another note these textures are very high quality and deserving of respect.
