Possible SLI issue. If you are running multiple nVidia cards and MSI afterburner is only reporting GPU 1 usage. Make a custom profile for FO4 in your nVidia control panel. SLI mode AFR 2.
LAST RESORT: If you feel like you Totally messed something up... -Open steam -Right click on Fallout 4 in the left colunm -Select "Properties -Select "Local Files" TAB -Click "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE". -Re-install F4SE http://f4se.silverlock.org/
Just so you guys know, All I'm doing is using a file version changing program to alter the file version of F4SE to anything above 1.5.0.0 so that NMM detects the game properly and applies the Asterisks change to the Plugins.ini
Don't have time to update for each release. BUT you can do this yourself ridiculously easy.
The program I used to do this is called ChangeVersion and can be downloaded for free at http://changeversion.software.informer.com/download/
Follow the install steps Just use the Fallout4.exe you modded with ChangeVersion AND your own copy of the Current release of F4SE
And copy the F4SE_Loader.exe and rename it to Fallout4.exe (The provided F4SE.ini tells F4SE to look for Fallout4_.exe instead of the normal Fallout4.exe. So basically anything that calls Fallout4.exe is actually launching F4SE and the Config file tells F4SE to load the renamed Fallout exe.
Is there a way to do this still? I would like to use a few mods that use F4SE and I cannot figure out how to make it launch with F4exe. Ive gotten it to launch one time and it didnt even have mods running at the time and now I cant remember how or figure out how I made it work the one time that it did. Im using Vortex Mod Manager to instead of the last one.
i get an error i run FAO4 1.9.4 witch is out of date ans incompatble with this version of F4SE lol...how to fix or update the game? ...i dont got steam
Suddenly the F4SE stopped work in my game... I was using last version 1.9 and then it just stopped work. My game still working fine, even lauching the game with "f4se_loader.exe". I'm playing on Steam.
Can someone help me?
Things tried:
- Remove and Reinstal F4SE; - Remove and Reinstal MODs which uses F4SE;
You can set up a custom launch command in NMM that does the same thing. Last few versions of F4SE loads itself, then the default executable, which then launches the Steam hook.
My trace program shows F4SE alone does the same thing as your mod.
Also, users of NVIDIA GeForce 980-series cards need to be aware there is a class action suit pending because the 980-series can overheat even with extreme liquid cooling and fry the mobo, CPU, and DRAM.
That was going to be my question. Every time they do a version update F4SE has to be updated (or the F4SE loader won't launch) as well as the mods that depend on it. Will this mod also have to be updated every time there\s an F4SE update?
You guys are lucky, I never seem to be able to stop it from updating. I haven't experienced an update yet. but if it did overwrite Fallout4.exe remember that exe is now the f4se file. so you still have the original Exe named fallout4_.exe. you could then simply download a fresh copy of F4SE and rename it again to Fallout4.exe
I had to set the game to only update when I fire it up. Then when I fire it up through F4SE I get a little window that tells me I am updating the game, that it will start after the update. At that point I have to stop the download and go offline with Steam. Then if i fire up F4SE it only has a partial download and it goes to the old copy.
Kind of a pain but it usually only takes a day for the guys to update F4SE. Hope this helps.
I see what you are saying on the copy naming thing though, good point.
Hey darkconsole. Thank you for your question! It's people like you that make the community a great place and motivate me to continue my work for nothing. I appreciate you reaching out to me.
I had a quick question / request for you (I know you are very busy so Ill be brief)
How do I make someone respond to me. Answer stick on your brown nose first, and slap on your butt kissing lips.
Looking forward to hearing back from you, and Thank you very much for your time, assisstance and Ideas.
Just remember that most devs, get little to no respect, People take for granted how much time and skill it takes to build things (and personal time from the wife and kids) for the community, and most of the responses are complaints. A little appreciation goes a long way.
Allows you to load the game using steam and always have F4SE loaded using the built in launcher. If you are a developer this is especially useful switching settings back and forth for testing. I have put in a bug report with NMM to try to get a work around for game the game patch level version detection method. Hopeful that a future version will support renamed executables.
Go to your fallout 4 installation directory. Find f4se_loader.exe (use ctrl+F if you don't understand alphabetization) Right click on your mouse (usually your middle finger) google for examples. Drag the file while still holding down the right mouse button to your desktop (find a blank area ie. with no icons). From here you let go of the right mouse button, there will be a magical menu that pops up. From here you use the left mouse button and click (press down the up) the menu item that says "Create shortcuts here" <- No worries though! I know it says "shortcuts" (plural) But i assure you it will only make one shortcut!

Both does not work.
Thank you, community!

Right now I am manually stopping the F4 update until I see the F4SE update is ready.

What benefit, and/or purpose does this serve?
Hope that helps!
