Definitely causing a lot of "invisible" issues. I testing another mod I was spawning settlers 6 at a time. With this mod active I was averaging 2 invisible per spawn. I'll miss it, but I had to remove this.
Just making this post in case anyone is looking to use this mod in 2024.
I can't say for sure that this wasn't my fault and the mod wasn't conflicting... but for me this mod makes the game crash a lot. I'd crash in and out of loading into buildings, or crash walking around. The problem was fixed once I removed this mod and started a clean save without it. There hasn't been much here so I wanted others to know that you should look for a different mod that's updated to add more variety. I admit, I haven't tried playing this mod by itself so I CAN'T say for sure this mod is broken on it's own.
Also... if your game isn't broken from this mod, you should know and understand this mod isn't early game friendly and you may need cheats to start off with some levels to get you going! These enemies are no joke and STRONG! There isn't anywhere much to go to get some starter xp and gear and avoid these guys.
TLDR; I believe this mod causes LOTS of CTDs to the point it's unplayable because you're crashing from loading into buildings or just walking around the world. It's also not beginner friendly at all, so you'll need cheats to get the most out of early game against these enemies. I hope this helps someone.
Did you happen to have Fusion Girl installed when this happened? Because I remember having FG installed, and when I shot a certain enemy (it was a gunner, I think), I got a CTD. Upon research, I found that this was caused by FG, not this mod. I don't know if this has been fixed in newer versions, but when I went back to CBBE, the CTD stopped happening.
I think it's a Next-Gen update problem that hasn't been fixed at the time of this comment. Nex-Gen specifically have issues with face-gen from mods. Look up methods to downgrade the game's version and do it because most mods don't work properly because of it.
X-Cell fixes the performance issues with this mod for me, though it's complicated to setup. If you're not an experienced modder, don't even try. The brief overview is to run Vault-Tec Enhanced FaceGen System - VEFS to generate the facegen for X-Cell to do it's magic. For optimal, less bug prone FaceGen, make sure to first run VEFS "Fix Face Textures."
I have been using another mod called FCOM-Fallout Commander. This mod works with it beautifully by feeding my eyes with hotties. Just that there isn't any new faces for institute synths and coursers. I am hoping that someone make a similar mod to this for the Institute. Will keep using this mod for the entire time now.
hello! quick little thing: I am a bit confused about the patch with Better Settlers, I'm running the version with DLC and I don't see a main file option for that. Am I big dumb or how should I go about installing to make sure both mods are working with DLC?
I'd appreciate a patch for Capital Wasteland Mercenaries CC. After I save the mercs from GNR Plaza and recruit them as settlers, the CW Mercs completely fill the settler pool and they also replace most of the NPCs from this mod.
Well, my bash patch is now saying it has hit the 255 item limit and may be truncated.
Does anyone know how to get around this for leveled lists?
Edit: I tried to create a bashed patch specifically only for NPC stuff, which consisted of the LMSE mods and a loot reduction mod. Even with only those mods included, I still couldn't fit the data into a bashed patch. I've gone back to beautiful female settlers as a result. If someone know how this mod is supposed to be used, I'm all ears
Love this mod. However the hairstyles leave something to be desired. So, does anyone know how to make a patch between this mod and say "Commonwealth Cuts"/KSHairdos? I tried making my own and somehow managed to screw up player perks and first person aiming.
Or, barring that, does anyone know of a tutorial on how to make patches based on the above?
what's up with all settlers wearing green? they look like Gunners in uniform instead of civilian commoners. Gunner shirts, military fatigues, combat armor, all green...
If you look at the esp through FO4 edit you can see that their outfits are referencing a gunner or raider list where the clothing is drawn from. I assume you could change it through there
Typically settlers draw from the wastelander LL IIRC, however with mods like sim settlements 2 or the like your LO might be different.
Easiest way to see would be to copy the outfit entry from the base settler NPC records to these in FO4Edit (that way you can guarantee they match your LO as the outfits should be the same). Between LO's so don't have an applicable patch to help use for advice.

Very confusing
