Really looking forward to it. Finally somebody is here to make this. Probably because the reload animation is too complicated that nobody was willing to make this weapon. Nice Job.
Can confirm: Reload animation is *very* complicated. That, combined with the difficulty to get your hands on compatible animation software, makes this very difficult.
I applaud you for taking on the arduous task then, I personally am quite excited for the result, the day will hopefully come that George Washington can rise from the grave and take on the post apocalypse using nothing but a musket and a revolutionary era sword (I looked up what the weapon is based on a while back, kinda strange the devs didn't call it a spadroon but i guess it wouldn't make sense without context) Anyway, i wish you good fortune with the making of the mod
I'm waiting on new computer parts at the moment. I'm stuck on the reload animations. There's like 9 different reload animations for the 3 different weapons and their multiple barrel lengths. So, obviously a time-consuming task when they all have to basically be made from scratch, and are lengthy reloads in their own right. Couple that with some engine quirkiness that makes the weapon's hammer particularly difficult to animate, and this might take a while. Here's what was complete before I decided that it would have to wait until my computer is better. For the record, I am going to see this through to completion, one way or another.
Ammo is the .50 Ball from Munitions - Ammo Expansion Project, originally featured in Fallout 76 for their Black Powder weapons. (I may make alternate versions that either use vanilla 50 Cal ammo, or add in .50 ball ammo.) The general stats have been worked out, as weapons that are clunky and slow, but immensely powerful. When used in the hands of enemies, it will be less powerful, as not to completely obliterate the player before they realize what happened. The perk weapons will scale off of Rifleman, until I (eventually) have pistol versions, which will scale off of Gunslinger. The pistol versions won't be at launch, I feel that you've all been waiting long enough for the rifles. I'll make an update to the mod once I've gotten fully situated in my life station. In the release version of the mod, there will be 3 weapons. A flintlock rifle, a percussion rifle, and a blunderbuss. Plus a few uniques, which I won't go into details on, as not to spoil it.
Absolutely amazing work so far! What you've done here is great and I can't wait to see where this goes! Take as much time as you need to create this my man, this is a mod this game absolutely needs and it'll have a spot reserved for it in my load order until then! Good luck! :D
am looking forward to this. hopefully we can have a true musket mod for fallout 4. maybe some fun places for it could included as a static drop. really looking forward to this.
Be cooler if it was a paper cartridge rather than a powder horn or at least a modification that you could do to speed up the reload speed (Cause that's what it actually did in real life.).
Looking forward to this a lot! Feels like the only type of weapons missing from my modlist and from FO4 overall. Any potential release timeframe or no? Maybe Q3 or Q4 this year?
Yes and no. It should work on either version, but I'm waiting for things like F4SE and Buffout to update before I continue working on it. I'd like to prioritize the newest version of the game, as that seems more newbie-friendly.
Hey quick question, when you do finish this will it be made available for console? I have been hoping for something like this for a while and would love to see something like this on console
Probably just Munitions in the event I don't feel like making a vanilla patch. Shouldn't even need F4SE, my machine just doesn't run FO4 without Buffout, which requires F4SE.
any updates? jut really interested as i cant find anything except for some makeshift weapon, the only musket/ flintlock that isnt a laser musket replacer. you may become the first to make a musket in fallout 4
I don't get why modders do not just recreate 76's black powder guns for nexus. this remains even as a non-mod the only attempt to add the old musket guns to fallout 4.
I would think that if you could add in a bayonet to this rifle, as like some sort of attachment that would be really great, and historically authentic if you like that sort of thing
as of 2024 alexpo hasn't released the mod yet, i hope they are still working on it but in the meantime here are some links to mods that have weps that are black power era.
there is a flint lock pistol, but it is set to hidden. and there is a modder for fallout new Vegas that has like 20 mods that somebody could ask for permission to transfer to 4
How the heck has no one made this into a proper mod yet? The game is set in friggin Boston for gods sake! I'm half surprised there isn't one in the game by default.
there used to be Hella bp/old weapon mods but when nexus did collections basically all the best mods got set to hidden, we lost lot of black power weapon mods.

I'm trying to keep my textures as close to the screenshots provided as I can, plus all the little details I like to add to my weapons.Anyway, i wish you good fortune with the making of the mod
Btw, have you decided on the ammo and stats? What of associated Perks?
Also, is this a Kentucky/Pennsylvania Long Rifle or Musket?
