You should edit the stock model to better resemble an actual AK stock.

Yes, there is. And I just replaced it with this one, because this one better suits the name "Handmade Rifle".
@H00V3RD8M: If you want a proper Chinese Assault Rifle, just use Wasteland Melody's great mod. If you want an AK, use Shifu's mod. -
I second that. I like this version with the Radium Rifle stock much better than the other wooden stock mod. And I dig the dark wood texture. Is this a replacer for the default texture of the handmade rifle, or does it alter the other paint jobs as well?

It's handmade though, Wasters especially raiders wouldn't know exactly how the stock looks. They'd just carve the b&@*$ out of garbage wood beat someone to death with it and call it a day.

Firstly, nice job on the stock, the barrel retexture too. The rifle definetively needed a proped wooded stock for non marksman rifles.
Secondly, I wanted to make a request, if you do that sort of thing. I use the long covered improved barrel, but I dont like the handguard, especially the black wood on top of the handguard, but also I hate the barrel on the welded barrel, it's too thick. So I was wondering, if you could take the handguard, and its textures from the welded barrel, and replace the black and orange handguard on the improved barrel. It would go a long way to making the weapon better looking. -
does it need silly second perk to add like the shovel stock ?

I did not re-texture anything, except the mag which is part of another mod. But I use this Reshade Pre-set:

EDIT: I forgot, I re-textured the barrel (so it is not the vanilla barrel)to fit the new stock in my other mod (link in the description). -

I quite like this. I'm currently using another wood stock, which plays to the AK feel of this weapon. Yours, however, fits the "Handmade" name better(I never could understand why Beth chose that name, but since they have...). Anyway, will try this out over the next day or so.

I think the implication with the name and some of the stock options (i.e. the shovel) is that this weapon was like, mass produced by the raiders.

Agreed. Problem is, Beth hasn't provided enough of those jerry-rigged options, which is the shame. You're right about the shovel - though it looks a little extreme to me. This wooden stock, however, works far better. Yes, it's a real rifle stock, so it doesn't look ridiculous, but at the same time, it is based on a German/Nazi weapon, yet ends up on a Russian/Chinese assault rifle. That's a pretty interesting mash-up.
