As I have several F4SE mods it may take some time before I manage to upload the files to the Nexus (this is the bit that I can't automate!) Until then, new versions may already have been built via the automated build service, so do check there if I haven't gotten around to uploading them to the Nexus yet.
If you have uninstalled the mod and now find that your controller isn't working in-game: It's probably because the mod switched off the "Use Controller" setting the last time you used it - this mod will automatically toggle the setting for you, depending on where your last input came from. If you last used the keyboard before uninstalling the mod, the setting will have been turned off.
Just head back into the game's Settings menu and re-enable "Use Controller" to be able to use your gamepad again.
Could you please update? I am disabled and special needs and require to play fo4 with a controller as it's too difficult to play with kb/m but use kb commands programmed on my controller. these commands will not function though on NG update because auto gamepad switch needs to be updated so can you please update it to the latest game version?
same here to an extent and ive tried using the keyboard and mouse to play but its terrible. the buffout version for the next gen update doesnt work for it either so neither one works. the only way i can change between my xbox1 controller to the keyboard (for things like place everywhere) and back is to take the battery out, do the keyboard part, then put the battery back in. which isnt feasible. why cant the next gen update just work? why are the mods so hard to update? i wish i knew more *sad*
this may be a redundant question but do you have access to an xbox elite series 2 controller or the like? it's not ideal but if you do you can use reWASD to remap the controller to the keyboard equivalents so you can still play with your controller and that way you can still switch back and forth. as I said though it's just a Band-Aid fix until this mod is updated but it works, if you have access the the controller and mapping software I mentioned, if you're willing to put in the time it takes to set up. in fact I can even send you my config if you have discord if you don't mind leaning my controls... it took me a few days to setup. again I use reWASD so you'd need that first before I can share my config.
my link is here for everyone that would like assistance with this. I prefer discord though because it lets me know most of the time that I have a new message whereas nexus does not.
Yes! Pleeeeeeeeeeease come back to us!! My life is in shambles, there is moss, dried leaves, and the filth, left behind by many seagulls battling upon the rooftops over what scraps they could find, blocking up the entirety of the drainage pipes that encircle my home. The tears I cry have nowhere to escape to and without the use of Auto Gamepad Switch, the constant showers show no signs of slowing down. I fear it will not be long before I am flooded out of my home and I am left standing out on the street, drenched in deep regret of my choice of instruments through which I play my games. Oh great registrator2000, why hath thou forsaken me.
Tried using this method (had no idea it even existed before you mentioned it), but unfortunately it would "switch" back to keyboard/mouse control from controller way to quickly. Browsing menus was nearly unusable, had to disable.
What are you talking about? Gonna assume you are not on the next gen update. Cus I just tried to disable steam controller input, and it didn't make this mod magically work for me. So just to let everyone know if you are on next gen, doing this still won't make this mod work. But for those on older game versions yeah this mod does work great, I used to use it, now I just cry erytim.
I will say though I used to use this on the older game version without having to disable steam controller input so IDK why you had to do that.
this mod just seems to disable my controller and no amount of trying to turn it back on in the settings like the sticky says changes that, it just turns it back off immediately and my controller does nothing no matter what I do. anyone know the cause or a fix?
Use Buffout 4's "InputSwitch = true# Automatically swaps inputs between kb+m/controller" setting instead. You'll find this line in "config.toml" file under the "Text File" tab. Works a treat, hope this helps!

this is a fantastic mod
if this works (you have access to the tech), want more info or want assistance I'll try to post my invite link to my Discord server... Discord server link if you need assistance with FO4

C&P from a reply from the comment, it should still work, providing you use Buffout 4.

Thanks in advance!
Disabled steam controller input. fantastic.
