UPDATE v 1-3: Having fixed even more textures, and reworking some from scratch, I'm pleased to say this is my best version thus far. Enjoy some vivid colors and darker tones.

ADDITIONALLY: I've released an imagespace plugin that cuts the HDR/eye-adaptation within the institute in half ('gray center' is raised from .18 to .50). The bloom and max exposure are also reduced. For users of my ENB, this is a must have. Please provide feedback.

    ENB UPDATE:
Many of you have asked about the ENB I used in my preview pictures, videos, etc. Good news - It's out now! Check out the link below.

Also, give my joke mod some love! A custom-made Fat-Man retexture giving the mini-nuke a "Bullet Bill" face.

    Thanks !

I tried to add a photo to show you but i loaded the V2 at the bottom of my load order and STILL insanely bright.

where in my load order should  shades of gradient V2 go? I downloaded it to fix the brightness of the institute but didn't do a thing. Maybe lower in load order? Thx

This is an ancient mod but might as well ask. this makes the Institute look nearly perfect- except for some reason the doctor/medical room area is still overwhelmingly bright all of the time no matter the time of day. Is there a particular reason for this or a way to further adjust settings? Thanks for otherwise fixing the institute with ENBs though.

I love this so much! But is there a 2k-1k version? My system can't handle these beautiful textures.

I can upload one if need be, but from my experience, the institute is a small enough worldspace that there shouldn't be any real issues.
      Questions:
What is your PC build/graphics card?
Have you tried the mod in the institute first? Others have said the 4k is relatively performance friendly for them. My suggestion is to try it and see if you notice any performance dips first-hand.

If so, let me know your fps with this mod vs without so I can figure out how much to down-scale and I'll be happy to do it. I uploaded a 2k version for the xbox, and users there seem happy with it.

I'm running a GTX 760 and an i5-6660k. I could handle it if I lightened the amount of mods I use, however I only have a 2k monitor so their is not real noticeable advantages of using 4k. I get an average of 60-fps, but whenever I enter the institute with this mod enabled I notice an 8-10 fps drop, I can upload images if need be; I'm not sure if this is usual but It varies on which areas of the institute I'm in. I would very much appreciate
it you could upload a 2k version if it doesn't get in your way.

Not only that if you use mods that add workshop items that use institute items it goes south fast.

I would also appreciate a 2k version - aside from performance reasons I think with 4k the difference is too big to other textures :-)
      It just looks too good...

I only have a 2k monitor so it would be pointless to use 4k textures please upload a 2k version.

4k textures does not mean you're playing in 4k. It's the quality of the textures applied. For example, while you're in first person (which is when you'll really notice the qaulity) have you ever walked up close to an object, lets say a car and the textures were blurry and didn't look so good? Well that is either 1k or 2k, which look best in third person but 4k gives these objects a crispr and clear texture while you're up super close. Generally I use 4k for weapons/armor mods only since I am always in first person and can enjoy the quality of textures. Now in this mod when you get inside the elevator or are standing next to the wall, etc...is when you'll really notice how much 4k really matters. You'll see the texture even if you're far away from it but the quality stays crisp and clear when you walk close to it as well. So 4k textures look like 4k textures on a 1080p

That's not how texture resolution works; it is completely separate from monitor resolution. You should be able to clearly tell the difference between 2K and 4K textures on a 1080p monitor. It's all about how a texture is stretched

Downgraded them urself. there's hardly any fps improvement over the 4k version though but it's your choice. Use Octagon or whatever texture tools that you prefer.

I love this makeover. I followed BRB's mod list which includes Evil Institute in his pre-build textures. I never really bought the idea that The Institute was evil. I'm glad I get to install your work to give it the flavor that vibes with me. Thanks.

I gotta ask...so currently I'm running the PRC ENB and this mod hasn't changed much of anything inside the institute....Is there something I'm doing wrong because I can't find that optional plugin designed for PRC anywhere.

I was actually blinded inside the Institute while using a an ENB.  This completely fixed it, thanks for sharing.

Btw, if you just want to fix the lighting without the textures then you can just install the second main file.
