I pulled the base id for the ring by using "help ring 4", then getting the code, then equipping it. It did not work. I went in and out of my power armor to verify if it was on and there was no difference. I don't think this works unfortunately.
yeah still wont work for me too. I encountered this before but I believe the console commands to removeitem the power armor frames worked but I havent made progress with that this time around.
BTW if anyone can't equip this item because you already have the bug, since you can't equip stuff while in Power Armor, do this on console:
player.equipItem <baseID of the ring>
I don't know if the number is the same or different for you, anyway, do in console if you need to know: help ring 0 It should show something like: "Armor - Power Armor Ring - <baseID>", you need to have the ring in your inventory to use the command.
Id like to thank you for fixing my game and everyone elses game. Really you have saved thousands of players from restarting there games. I will gladly share this mod on the steam topics and give all credit towards you!
I'm given to understand that the Pipboy Power Armor interface is a bit complicated but highly sought after. I know for a fact that I would be endorsing such a mod, and I'm very certain it would be very popular!
Hey everybody. I don't wanna give the wrong impression that I don't care enough to add what you guys want in, they're awesome ideas! I haven't replied until now because I really wanted to help the community, and was desperately trying to fix the Creation Kit so it didn't crash immediately. To be honest, this sucks for me as much as it sucks for you guys, as I use this mod for my own game, and now cannot fix the bugs I find. It's like playing golf and some guy keeps running onto the green and kicking your ball into the woods right before it goes in. You see him doing it, but he's too far away and you can't stop him.
I'm doubly pissed at myself because I almost got this working when the Creation Kit nuked itself, so the plugin I have installed is an in-between of the PIP BOY version and the power armor version that you requested. Point being, it does neither, so I have to download this version again for basic functionality.
OH, one more thing! If anyone has any idea how to get the Creation Kit running again, I promise within 3 days of fixing it I will give you exactly what you want, as sort of a compensation for working with me. Thanks!
Gave it a go after encountering the bug myself & unfortunately it was unable to fix the problem. Thanks for actually setting out to fix the problem though.

Thanks for your fast answer. Now i have your ring, but it works not for me. It´s ok in the power armor, i see my pipboy with menu. But if i leave the power armor, the pipboy is gone. I´ve used the tipps from your description, but i see nothing. Looks like in the snapshot from your description.
You are actually a big help. I haven't had much time to test this, so you and everyone else out there who gives me the details on issues like this is the best thing somebody like me could ask for, as I am new to the modding game. Check out the description again, I will revise it with further instructions.
If only I had this mod over a month ago. I ran into this same bug/issue while playing late game and I couldn't fix it with any solutions I found online and loading an old save wasn't an option since I was on survival. Oh well. But I will add this to my mod list just in case I run into this game breaking bug again. Kudos to you.

it is possible to make a mod that removes the pipboy and adds the power armor pipboy hud when youre not in the power armor?
