For the people who can't get the blur effect esp to work: Make sure your depth of field quality option in the launcher's advanced settings is set to 'Bokeh'. The blur effect won't work with standard DoF quality.

Found this mod a little late but this is the better solution than STS for my needs.
Looks not as "cool" as STS but its script free and needs no patches at all, doesn't do other stuff than simply put a STS like overlay on.
It is KISS and just works.

I can' get the dof effect to work. Have bokeh set in the launcher, have the Main file, the dof file and the correct reticle set 2 file. Have the dof esp highest in load order and don't use the clarity mod. The blur reticle set 2 when i try and install it says the content of the data is invalid. Maybe that has something to do with it?

With this mod enabled, my scope screen locks completely still. No mouse input accepted until I descope. I'm thinking it's not a conflict, since I followed the TMR guide. As long as my game is playable after pulling it out of my loadorder, i'll be fine. I'm not entirely sure it even makes sense, the idea of being able to see things around the outside of a scope. When I aim through a real rifle scope, my eye is close enough to the sight that I don't see anything around the exterior of the scope, and I am a decent shot. You definitely wouldn't want that on a real weapon.

Have the same issue but disabling the mod causes the game to crash when loading the save.

For me, when I disable the mod my game will randomly hang in such a way that nothing UI-based can be used (with the exception of main/pause menu). It's very frustrating and game breaking because it means I cannot open Pipboy during combat (very often) and also I cant even USE my favorited items (no stimpack use at all during this problem).

Load a save from before you installed the mod. Most basic rule of modding.

You followed TMR but I'm not sure how well you follow it. I also followed the guide and of all the 3 times I play with TMR load order I've never experience such issue. There is literally 0 way that the scope overlay could cause such an issue. TMR while being a good foundation is by no means perfect. There is still a lot of random crashes and freezes within the game. Maybe you can try Escape Freeze F4SE.

The overlay and blur are fantastic - it's a crying shame that almost all of the reticles themselves are a little... gamey.

What scopes and weapons does this mod cover? Could it be a replacer for see through scopes? Does weapon mods like Deadpool's service rifle and the lore friendly 5.56 series needs patches?

It should work on any mod/scope as long as it uses/used the vanilla scope in overlay. It shouldn't work with STS (Untested)

Okey but let's say i install this mod and let sts overrite it, shouldn't this mod in theory just make the night vision scopes and some modded weapons that don't have a sts patch work or is it not that simple?

No... Making a scope compactible requires work on your end using Creation Kit. STS has a guide on how to make a scope see-through. This mod purely changes the Vanilla scope recticles to something else. Anything that uses the vanilla system should theoretically be affected by this mod.

Not what i meant... I wondered if this mod could be used in combination with sts so that the scopes and weapons that aren't covered by sts would still be able to use this mods overlay. Not that it would somehow magically make the night vision scopes see through.

This mod replaces the vanilla scope overlay and should be compatible with both the See Through Scopes ADD version as well as any weapon using the vanilla scope overlay and not patched to use STS.

Has anyone experienced the scope inverting when you aim with certain weapons, and know what causes it?

Otherwise a fantastic mod but one of my facourite reticles is being replaced with something else..
Wanted to use the "double zero" reticle for some guns but its being replaced with one called "range finder 1", I figured this much out from the scopemenu.swf but i have no idea how to re-replace that reticle back.
If someone could help me with that, would be much appreciated!

Brilliant, much preferred over See through Scopes. It was an issue when changing FOV that see-through scopes would project the scope far closer to the subject's face when using anything slightly above default values, this mod doesn't seem to have this issue. Bravo!

Are you using Clarity perchance? If so, you could try the following: Use FO4Edit, load Clarity.esp and remove the record under "Game Settings" that changes fIronSightsDOFStrength from 0.500000 to 0.000000.
