Thanks for this mod. When I was 10 meters away from this raider, he saw me, but didn't do anything. But at some point your companions walk towards him, and before the raider can stand up, the Gaussrifle wielding Preston shot their head off. So thanks for changing the faction of the raider.
I also feel like the term raider justifies too much. There are raider camps, even without bloody decoration, and if you trespass, I feel like they somewhat have the right to shoot at you. For example the 'raiders' on the ship in the southeast. They won't shoot at the Warwick Homestead, only if you come too close. I feel like in this game raiders are all the same cookie cutter evil doers, who can be shot at first sight, because they are 'raiders'. It just feels weird that they're all the same.
That Raider gang also speaks Swedish or Norwegian and if I'm not mistaken it translates to them asking why you're killing them or to please leave their boat.
Yeah, the norwegian raiders are more neutral and defensive than aggressive. Their lines of dialogue support this.
Raiders are kind of like Nazi soldiers in other games. No need to ask questions, just shoot, they're bad anyway. There is the Raiders Non-aggression pack-mod on this site that does a good job of making raiders more neutral. They still try to shoot you if you attack them or get too close, but not on sight anymore.
Yeah, the crew of the Northern Star are another rather tragic tale, like this "Raider". If anyone doesn't understand Norwegian, they'd assume the crew are doing what a Raider does. Taunt you. But, they are begging for you to stop and leave them in peace. I've peeked into the CK trying to figure out a way to possibly change them around to be non-hostile as well. Once you actually know what they're saying, you don't really feel justified to charge in, and YOU are the Raider, as you're coming to take everything they have by force.

To make them nonagressive you could set up a custom faction and make it neutral to the PC, which could all be done in XEdit so you don't need to mess with the CK.
Absolutely making new factions in XEdit is a must every time I play. I add my new factions to base encounters and actor bases themselves every playtthrough to make raiders from mods or vanilla fight each other and whatnot.
There is a mod that adds more raider factions/camps and a few of them are defaulted as neutral. One camp last night was yelling at me "why are you doing this", "leave me alone", "i dont want to hurt you".
I've had this installed for multiple playthroughs now and I miss the old one. All this does is make the little graveyard full of bodies and I find this guy tied up in a house nearby who can in absolutely no way be interacted with ever. Just a completely broken NPC every single time. What gives???
Thank you! First play thru, I approached, he aggro'd on me. Second play I remembered what was up and skirted around him only to have Heather blow him away. My first thought is "Hope there's a mod for this, poor guy"
Thanks man. One of the one things i hate about fallout 4 is that if a human isn't a named npc or called "settler", they have to die. Like. Raiders are people. They're human beings, you should be able to talk to them and figure things out.

This little set-piece always feels like a truly pointless death, great to see it "fixed"..
I normally try to recruit named raiders, this one is a good addition.
