Hello! I have a voice acting friend that would interesting in bringing Goris to life. Is there anyway I can contact you to get the ball rolling?
Send me a message on telegram, discord, or email me so I can get you in contact with him if so! Discord: kyain Telegram: @Kyainx Email: [email protected]
Hey owner dude this dude below my comment has a friend [which i am not] that would like to be Goris. You may be already working with him so we all would like to know if they are going to get the role, if not you should respond to him.
Two questions: Does this mod compatible with Deathclaw Armory(https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22270), i.e. can Goris wear armor from that mod? Did you cut that "GRAND EARTH SLAM ROAR"(c) deathclaws do at the start of the combat?
Has anyone come up with a way to fix it. I really like this companion but currently he can't use the death claw armory items and his dialogue is stuck at him asking you to trivial with him even though he is already your companion.
It's an okay mod, but it definitely could be improved. The robe bit may be up to the use of Fallout 4 Script Extender (I'm thinking for a custom robe or robes, robe removal and wear animations, and maybe unique walking/running animations while wearing a robe, less savage and feral movement compared to the rest of his kind. Could even have a neat animation of him reading a book in his robe, as Goris is also as much on the intellectual side as he is on the brutal side).
What could be improved now are the kinda little things. Starting a conversation with or issuing a command to Goris is difficult because he rarely stands still. He's always doing some mobile animation that moves the rest of his body around, during and outside of conversation, along with his head, which is the main body part you need to interact with to talk to/command him. But since he's moving around so much and is much taller than you, it's more of a hassle to talk to him than that of a follower of a more even height. If there's a way to have him just stand with a somewhat hunched back during conversation (Maybe limit or remove mobile animations? Or have custom animations where he specifically lowers his head for you to interact with, which may be more work but could go a long way compared to how he is now), as well as outside of conversation when you aren't moving around too much to make him move in the first place, too, it would certainly help.
Also, it may be more of a nitpick regarding dialogue than basic interaction, but Goris talks in a somewhat more...aggressive way with what he says compared to Fallout 2. His comments and threats, even if jokingly stated, regarding some basic dialogue choices you make sound a little unfitting and unlike something he would actually say given his more curious, open-minded personality. He just comes off as tired, irritated and somewhat inherently annoyed with the player here. The very few proper and polite words he says help to oppose this a little bit, but not enough. Now, I could just chalk it up to being roughly four in-game decades since his first debut, and the events he went through certainly didn't help (As well as the fact that he's considered canonically dead after Fallout 2 by Chris Avellone, perhaps due to apparently disliking the idea of having talking intelligent animals in the Fallout universe despite there being talking Mole Rats and an intelligent Radscorpion in Fallout 2 itself), but it just came off as strange to me.
I know, seemed strange to me too. Like s#*!, a ghoul turning into a tree isn't too weird to be removed but a deathclaw who can talk? Way too silly I guess. Really makes me wish for a really well done mod, Goris deserves to be brought back and we know Bethesda ain't gonna do it.
The problem for Bethesda is ALL of them can talk. Deathclaws are people. But they can only speak English with surgical or genetic modification because, you know, vocal chord differences due to shape and size. They didn't want to keep crowbaring in reasons to have another tribe of talking deathclaws... Which is dumb, no one would care if they were just like "Oh, East Coast ones can mimic noises like parrots and speak that way."
Unfortunately, Todd Howard is the laziest, most boring, business first, game maker alive at present. So all square pegs get cut round to fit in the triangular hole.
All great suggestions! - I would love someone to add a robe and unique animations to Goris, my favorite animation in FO2 is when he whips it off at the beginning of combat, always wanted to put that in but I don't have the expertise. - Disabling the idle animations was something I probably struggled with longer than I actually spent creating the mod, I could never figure out how to make it work in the creation kit (that's all I used for this mod). Looking back, I should have probably made him slightly smaller to help mitigate that and fit in with the "runt" theme. - I didn't spend much time on dialogue, most of it was just there to set a baseline for a simple companion. My idea was as you mentioned, after decades on the road in the wasteland all while being hated for who he is, he is more bitter than his youth.
Thanks for the love everyone still shows for this mod, never thought some experiment I did in high school after class would get so much attention!
I am a 2-year apprentice on computer modeling with a knack for Blender engine. I would love to help you make the robe and harry potter style glasses for Goris. Mind send me the T-posed model of Goris? Just to use as a manikin?
If you're still up for that, this author has said anyone can modify this mod (check the premission's tab). Also, the deathclaw T-Pose is what you will find Goris in when you look at the .nif included in this mod. Yes, that's ACTUALLY how they were default posed by Bethesda.
Hi, i want to change goris into a chameleon deathclaw years ago, i knew how to model swap now i completly forgot it maybe it was throu f04edit or creation kit can somebody please tell me how to do it:(
Tried downloading this mod in Fallout 4 Data folder, but it doesn't seem to work. I can talk to Goris but, when the dialogue ends, he doesn't follow me, and no longer responds to any new attempt to talk with him. Can someone help please?
