Hey, thats the reason i removed some stuff because objects kept disappearing.
Im still trying to figure out what causes it, because it makes half of my reworked areas not buildable D:

i know you havent been online since december of 2019 and could likely be a covid casualty i would like to suggest just incase you are alive that maybe the flickering is caused by the precombined meshes being borked causing issues with rendering as the computer and game thinks that the items that flicker are infact behind something causing the engine to offload the texture data, but that is just a theory and i have no idea if that actually is the issue

It's been a while since i updated this, but i finally found some time to start working on it again. Hopefully i will soon have a version where the build-areas are fully done, for now i made a sort of quick-fix that makes the East-Workshop accessible on saves where the Vault has been entered or stuff already build. Simply get the
bat-file i made and run it through console, if you don't own all dlc you need adjust the "05" part of the object-ID's in the bat-file to match your load-order.

PS: If you don't run a clean save i recommend to scrap all objects that you build outside the large main-area of the vault because you will probably get a messed up
settlement due to my build-space changes.

It's great to hear that you're still working on it. This mod has awesome potential, I can't wait for it to be fully usable. Thanks for your effort so far!

BTW is there any hope it will ever be compatible with scrapping mods? I'm talking about the holes in walls, the white void behind them, the flickering, etc.

Is it still being worked on? I love this mod, the amount of building space it offers is simply awesome. But the problem with building anything in subway and around the water area is a pain. Any chance it will be fixed?

Either way, great work so far.

Great work on the mod, I love the idea. I tested using an existing save game that had not been to Vault 88 yet, in fact I hadn't discovered Quincy Quarries yet so figured that would be a good place to start. Here are the issues I found before I disabled the mod....

    1. Mod will not install via NMM as mentioned by a previous poster. I was able to work around this by downloading manually and extracting the file to my data folder. Not a huge issue but kind of annoying as this way the mod doesn't show in my categories unless I force it.

    2. Once I entered Vault 88 (and even in the underground area of Quincy Quarries) I started to notice flickering. Most common with corpses but objects as well will start to disappear from view. I managed to walk by some of the ghouls I shot as they were invisible, when I turned around the corpse was there but as soon as I approached it would disappear again. Same thing was happening with some objects in the various rooms (clipboards, papers, etc...). Not critical as you can still interact with the object/corpse if you know where it is so I was still able to get the quest item needed to unlock the first workbench.

    3. Once I got into the main vault area and started scrapping I noticed the issue mentioned by InvertedSheep. I am using ScrapEverything but have the Vault 88 mod portion disabled. When you walk into the main chamber from the entrance and look to your right there are some metal shipping containers/crates stacked up near the water tower. When I scrapped these it took a chunk of the rubble that lines the room with it. This caused the "white void" issue. This may be only cosmetic as most people build in this area and you would likely never see the white space but I have had some bad experiences with this kind of bug when building so avoid it at all costs.

Well thats about it. Once I saw the white void issue I had to disable as I was concerned there would be more. Looks like a great start and will be tracking this one to see if you can get the bugs worked out.

The disappearing of objects and corpses could happen, because i added some room markers and occlusion panes to improve performance after noticing there was not much occlusion culling going on in the cell.

Edit: Did you use any mods that change vault 88? I noticed when testing it my self that some mods might interfere with my layout changes.

Nope nothing else modifying Vault 88. The only thing I can think of is ScrapEverything as that has had some interesting side effects if not setup correctly.I can try testing a bit later without ScrapEverything to see if that helps.

Ok back with updates. I downloaded the updated file and installed with NMM (woohoo thank you) and disabled ScrapEverything. I can confirm that the wall I mentioned in point 3 above has been corrected so thats one down. Unfortunately the flickering issue persists with ScrapEverything disabled so it does not look like it is the cause.

Some other things I noticed now that I have done a full walkthrough...

      1. Is the Overseer supposed to be human now instead of a ghoul? Not an issue exactly but a surprise to say the least.
      2. In the east sector the workbench is not there, could be an issue with dirty save.

After doing a full walk through I like the design, my only critique is I would have liked to keep all the sections of the vault in the same cell like it was originally designed. Right now there is a load screen between the vault section and one area where you would have to go to unlock the rest of the vault (can't remember which section it is, but its the subway area). I am guessing this was how you envisioned it but my personal preference would have been to keep it all in one cell.

The vault is in the same cell. The doors work like a teleport because he erased the caves and broken wall sections that connected the main area to the subway station.

The teleport doors are temporary, only forgot to remove the loadscreen so it looks like a different cell. I just thought it would be the best to add sort of a placeholder so it doesn't delay a first upload.
About the workbench, i noticed this myself. Ill try to find a way around this issue so it works with a already existing save.

BTW The overseer was supposed to be sort of a easter egg :D

Damn sorry if i spoiled anything :( Definitely wasn't complaining myself was just kinda surprised. I will download the latest version to see if that fixes up some of my issues. Overall I do like the layout of the place and really wanna try another vault.

Update: Ok the east sector workshop is where it should be so good news there. The tunnel leading to the east sector from the main chamber had 2 tiles that were missing but not a huge issue as again these would be covered by vault tunnels and could be a mod conflict. The first one of these missing tiles is around the break from the main chamber so you can see the white space there if you look up. Additionally the corridor leading to the north east sector from the main chamber was also missing a rock piece but there was no real issue. The only other thing of note is my save is now certainly dirty as i never made a clean one so i do have some stuff where the original overseers trailer was in the main chamber but scrapeverything is clearing this up pretty well.

Update2: Decided to get on with the vault quest and open the other areas but ran into some issues. I am hoping this is due to a dirty save but it may also be related to this note on the description...

In the area around the waterpump and the subway where Overseer Barstow awaits your arrival its not possible to place workshop items at the moment ( will look into this)

The North East sector control board was not where it should be, the quest marker was leading under the floor in the tunnel beside the train car with the glowing one that spawns. I used the console to clip my way in and continued on. The same thing happened in the East sector. This time it seems to be both the workshop and control boards. The workshop fix you implemented appears to work but the original workshop was still below. Here you can hit either of the workbenchs and the quest will continue but if you use the new one that you added the quest marker for the old stays behind. Used clipping to get the control board but when I plugged it in (either workshop) the build mode opens but tells me I am outside of the build area and closes in 5 seconds.

Reading the note on the description I am hoping this is just a combination of the dirty save and a bug you are already working on but wanted to give an update on what I saw.

I uploaded the pics here because I seem to be to dumb to do it in PM.
1.2.3. the new tunnel is nice, I could fit the wide hallway with no problem, but some of the ceiling pieces seem to be missing. also the ground block is still there and it clips into the floor of the hallway.
    4. a piece of the old tunnel has not been deleted.
    5. the rubble piles in the east sector subway are still scrapable.
6.7. I don't know if you did it by accident or if you managed to figure out how to fix the glitches but now there are only 2 places where I have graphical glitches. a little piece of the tunnel to the east sector and the corner between the main area and the stairs to the north-east sector. (these glitches are not caused by your mod, they are a problem of the vault-tech dlc, and happen when you build to much and have a mod active that modifies de map and breaks the precombined stuff). But it normally its much worst and in my case always has happened in the same zones of the map. That's how I was able to find them now, because this time I really had to look for them.
    8. near the tunnel to the pharmacy there's a piece of invisible floor, it still has collision so you walk over air.
    9. there's at least one floating item, this trash can is floating near the doors to the repaired subway.
    10. the overseer is not a ghoul anymore.
    11. you should close the tunnel to the old subway closer to it's beginning, there's a little hole into the void ate the end.
12.13. doors into the unknown. they are near the exit to the subway

I didn't test the mod with a new save yet because I'm interested in using it in this one. if you can't find these problems maybe the cause is my save or some other mod. I can try and check with a new save some other time.
      And thanks for the changes!
      Keep up the great work!!!

found a really old save and went to vault 88. the 1. and 4. problems were gone. if it's my save the fix its easy I can just delete those pieces with place everywere.

I missed most of your work because of the existing save. It was really fun to check the place again.
found a new problem. even with a new save the workshop from the eastern sector has the wrong z. it's hidden below the floor

    Awesome Work!!!!

There seems to be a couple of issues. But I must confess that I didn't use a new save to check out the mod.

Some of the rubble piles that close the ends of the railway tunnels are scrapable, and when you do that, you can see little holes into the infinite and beyond. Also there seems to be 2 walls or doors missing near the door to the subway, you can see into the void and even fall from the map.

There is a large flat block of dirt floor in the tunnel between the main area and the eastern sector. Also it would be nice if you could make that tunnel wider so one can place a wide hallway.

There are also some places where you seem to walk over nothing, but It might be graphical glitches I get when the vault 88 map is changed.

    Keep up the good work!!!
