After you install the ESL with Nexus Mod Manager you must close NMM, reopen it, then go to the plugins list and activate the ESL. Please make sure the ESL is on before asking for technical help.

If you think a song doesn't fit you may be missing something. For instance, I edited down a clip of the classical music Goldberg Variations by Bach; it is in there because Hannibal Lecter listens to it in the Silence of the Lambs films and it sounds sort of spooky, too, imo.
I won't be including modern-sounding songs in the lore friendly radio station. Sorry dudes. People seem to enjoy the way SSR fits in the world.
If you don't like a song you can skip ahead by turning the station off and on again in the Pip-Boy. (Unless you built a Jack-o-Lantern Radio, that locks the station in.)
A version of Monster Mash is in there!
Version 1.2 is out and it is XWM and ESL if you want it!
If the volume is too loud / not loud enough please use the Radio volume slider in the Settings menu in the game. I set most music levels high while editing but nowhere does any sound "clip" and break the boundaries of the audio range, all sounds should sound good at any volume you set in the game. I erred on the side of high volume versus low since it is easiest to edit that way. Scary stories may sound lower, but that is because their audio peaks (BOO!s, screams and such) are higher than the talking. At this point, working with over 200 pieces of music and stories, going back and re-leveling all songs probably isn't going to happen for a long time if at all, but as I said earlier the in-game volume works perfectly! - New spoken word bits I add will have the sound "compressed" so speaking is closer in volume to loud music stingers/screams. Learned a couple things working on this project.

On the fair use of old movie trailers and ad posters in the mod: "Remember these are promotional materials that the studios want the public to be exposed to as much as possible. Wow, one of the most unexpectedly awesome updates to a mod I've seen since AWKCR. For what it is I didn't think you could do much better with a lil radio mod, but, you reaaallly did. Nice work!!!
WOW!!! This is like the most awesome radio mod to come out in a long time. I love all the extra things you added as it really brings the life of that fateful October when everything ended. Everyone was celebrating the upcoming Halloween holiday and thanks to this awesome mod you see it in packaging, advertisements, radio and all the little personal touches. I'll totally be recommending this mod to others as it is lore friendly and something that will stay as permanent in my Fallout load order and plays. Thank you for making this, sharing it and always updating it as often as you do.
It was always my aim to have Spooky Scary Radio become a "permanent" mod in people's mod lists. I'm glad you see it that way. Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot! This is my main outlet for my creativity and energy at the moment so I truly appreciate it when you guys comment nice stuff here. :)
The only downside to this mod, though it can be major or minor depending on how you look at it, is that the new posters overwrite the ones that were preexisting, so I can no longer put up propaganda posters in my settlements! If anyone knows how to fix those specifically that would be amazing! For reference, even if you use a mod designed to pull out all DLC items and make them a separate build menu entirely, they remain changed to these posters.
While this is true, it means losing out on all the other textures as well, which I love. Hence why I'm curious if anyone knows a workaround for just those.
So I finally got this running.. Pretty cool mod.. Sadly I didn't listen to it as often as I had expected.
Surprised me however, when I started a new game after uninstalling the mod and all the graphics still remain changed due to the mod. Any way to fix the changes back to vanilla textures?
This mod sounds amazing however I can't seem to get it running. I keep seeing that you need to download ESL and I can't seem to find what you are talking about. 4 pages come up and nothing about ESL as an installed program but rather added to other mods.
I'm probably missing something super simple. I am used to xbox for fallout, so much more to deal with on pc.
I don't really know much about how radio mods work, so can I just delete most of the tracks after installing? I'm never going to hear 500 tracks and it's likely to just make me less likely to hear the best and most appropriate tracks. Great posters and stuff, though, so I'd like to use the newer version that includes those.
There is a good amount of music, indeed. But, a great amount is also vintage audio short horror stories and clips from some shows. To kind of spruce up the Halloween feel. Not sure if deleting things blatantly will work, not sure if the mod depends on certain number of xwm's to function or play.
