What is this and what does it do?

This mod adds a new build-able robot creature in the form of a full grown adult horse version of the Giddyup Buttercup robot toy called GrownUp Buttercup. GrownUp Buttercup functions as a player mount, storage container and simple companion.

Notes:

To obtain GrownUp Buttercup:

***While this mod has no effect on, or in any way touches Arlen Glass's quest (Giddyup N' Go) that quest will need to be completed either finishing it or failing it before this mount will become available to build. For reference Arlen Glass is located in The Slog settlement location in the greenhouse-like shack attached to the main building. Also the only way for you to fail his quest is by him dying before you receive\complete the quest. (As he is not considered a settler by the vanilla game any attack on the slog can cause his death.)***

So after completing his quest enter a settlement. If you load a game that you previously already completed\failed Arlen's quest and you already in a settlement you will likely need to leave the settlement bounds and re-enter in order to trigger the mod. A pop up will display on your screen and afterwards you will be awarded a unique item called Giddy Circuit Board. Enter the workshop menu and scroll all the way to the right of the base workshop menu. You will see a Giddy head keychain labeled GrownUp Buttercup. Entering that menu will show the options: Giddy Workbenches and GrownUp Buttercup. The GrownUp Buttercup can be built from that menu provided you have the Giddy Circuit Board. The Giddy Workbenches (both are the same just different models) are for creating equip-able items for your GrownUp Buttercup. All workbench items serve no purpose other then cosmetic.

Some of the same warning stuff as all our driveables:
-Don't attempt to ride\enter another driveable while already on\in one
-Wearing power armor while riding is not recommended

Compatibility:

Mods that have known issues with Driveables are:

0) When installed with any of those Button Lowered Weapons, Lowered Weapons, Weapon Lowered mods, dismounting GrownUp Buttercup may:
--end with a face issue (though very rare) on the player. This is actually a vanilla bug (because we use Vertibirds as a base for these Mounts). Exit the game and the face should come back. Otherwise, make a choice which mod you want to use, those or this.
--cause the player to be unable to Mount\Dismount GrownUp Buttercup, while leaving the player with no control or control of GrownUp Buttercup at an inappropriate time.
1) Any mod that edits the animations for vertibird mount/dismount. Confirmed issue with Vertibird Jump.
2) Possible issues with Amazing Follower Tweaks. As far as we can tell, it mostly just compounds any possible Companion/GrownUp Buttercup interaction issues...especially the AFT option to make Companions get onto mounts automatically.
4) Neutral Vertibirds. It edits/diverts some mounting objects that can cause conflicts with GrownUp Buttercup, including companion dismount issues (also, somewhat similar issues to Vertibird Jump, with player dismounting). We do offer a very simple Vertibird buildable in our APC and Tank Turrets mod here.

F.A.Q:
(If you notice a particular tone with some of these answers its because we get a bit tired of having to answer the same questions again, and again and again.)

Q: Why hasn't someone brought over the mount system from Skyrim?
A: Its against Bethesda's rules to transfer anything between games, yes, even other Bethesda games

Q: Why not just recreate the riding system?
A: Above my skill level and I'm content with how the driveable mounts work currently

Q: If its a horse why does it sound and act like Dogmeat?
A: First off, none of our team are animators, so we work with what we have from the base game, so yes, dog skeleton=dog animations

Q: Why not use the Radstag animations?
A: Personal preference, I tried the radstag animations and found them much slower and more awkward then the dog animations which work much better with the model.

Q: Why a robot, why not a animal horse?
A: Fallout lore states that horses have gone extinct, and because a robot horse was more fun to make.

Q: Can <insert companion name> ride GrownUp Buttercup?
A: Erring on the side of safety, no not really, its a player mount. Companion mounting just is not consistent at all, sometimes works, most of the time doesn't and can possibly CTD the game if you tell them to mount. Try at your own risk but its not supported.

Q: Where can I find more Giddy Circuit Boards (or how can I build more than one GrownUp Buttercup)?
A: There's only one Giddy Circuit Board because there's only supposed to be one GrownUp Buttercup. GrownUp Buttercup is essential so you should not need to replace it as it shouldn't be able to die.

Q: Why are those textures so horrible?
A: Thank you for volunteering to create better ones.

Q: Wouldn't it be cool if <insert faction here> had GrownUp Buttercup mounted patrols around the Commonwealth?
A: That's outside the scope of this mod.

Adjusting Camera distance (3rd person):

Before you do anything, backup your ini.
Then, for a closer 3rd person camera view when riding, add (or change if existing) this to your Fallout.ini (or Falloutcustom.ini):
[camera]
fVertibirdAutoVanityZoom=350.0000
fVertibirdVanityModeMaxDist=2000.0000
fVertibirdVanityModeMinDist=350.0000

Adjust those numbers to your liking (that's a good setup for the small animals, like the GrownUp Buttercup, but may not be great for the trucks/Jeeps/APC)."

**Note that this is also linked to vanilla Vertibird flight perspective and any of our other drivables.**

***While I'll mention it on this page, we do not support ini edits, so please do this at your own risk...and, again, backup your ini before hand.***
