WEST TEK INVISIBLE OPTICS

This mod creates an invisible "dummy" eye piece that uses FadingSignal's West Tek Tactical Optics framework. This means that you can have the benefits of the west tek optics vision modes wearing whatever armor you want. Works best with the toggle switch or hotkey options of the original mod. Can be customized to use 7 different armor slots for maximum compatibility. Designed for vanilla FO4, it does NOT use Armorsmith Extended. The dummy optics can be crafted at the chem workbench under:

Chem Workbench / WEST TEK DUMMY OPTICS / West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 51
West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 54

West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 55

West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 56

West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 57
West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 58
West Tek Dummy Optics Slot 59

They can also be found in the lobby of the Med Tek Research building close to the blueprints from the original mod. This mod uses the exact framework from the original mod so you will not have an option to add vision modes until you have found the West Tek blueprints & letter in the Med Tek Research building. I don't know what your armor configuration will be like so you will need to experiment with the different slot items to see what works best for you. Here is a general slot breakdown found with most mods:

51 - Ring
54 - Backpack
55 - Holster Only on Hip
56 - ?
57 - Visible Weapon Holster on Hip
58 - Visible Weapon on Back
59 - ?

IMO & from personal experience I find Slot 51 & Slot 56 to be the best options but your miles may vary. This mod goes great with my helmet light mods.

Installation

-An absolute must, you have to first install FadingSignal's original mod here : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12220

-Use a mod manager to install the mod (tested & used with Nexus Mod Manager Community Edition 0.70.8)

-Main file is an ESP that is flagged as an ESL. Shows up as an esp in your load order but will NOT count towards your plugin list.

Uninstall

If you wish to uninstall the mod make sure to turn off any vision modes / target HUD first. Then scrap the optics armor. Exit the game, uninstall the mod from your mod manager. Restart FO4, and save your game.

Known Issues

In the vision modes select from the armor workbench, the night vision (cosmetic), target HUD (cosmetic) & thermal vision (cosmetic) are still visible. These options do nothing and can be ignored.

Toggle switch enabled visions may not always deactivate. This same issue is present in the original mod as well. Just unequip, then equip your armor.

Because of the different slot items (and depending on your armor configuration) you can actually equip all 7 slot items. I believe the last item equipped will retain it's vision mode. Just remember to unequip the unneeded slot items.
