as an owner of an MG3, this sounds absolutely horendous. it sounds like it was recorded from Call of Duty 2 with a low-bit mic and saved with the lowest hertz settings possible.
Could you add a version that balances it even further? I tried myself but couldn't find a good middle ground. Even with 30 dmg like an Assault Rifle it was way too op. Maybe it has to do with rate of fire
Let's see, actually the MG 42 was capable of firing 1200/1500 rounds per minute, taking the first value for good, we have 20 rounds per second. The Mg34 let's say around 900 rpm (there were also 1000rpm versions), so 15 rounds per second,
Now, the game rate of fire states how many rounds are shot per 10 seconds, so the 200 of the MG42 is accurate, while the Mg34 I set to 180 means a fire rate of 1080 rpm, which is a bit more than the real deal.
Also, the balancement depends slighty on the other mods you have! If it's too OP you could try lower the base damage to 20, doing so it will just be like a buffed minigun
I disagree with your wording but agree with the spirit. The gun shots sounds like they came from a dated WWII game, recorded with ancient microphones and saved on CDs lol
You're mising the point and I'll try to explain it: there's no "each sound" in the original mod, I made each sound and created relative keywords and descriptors via esp. The original mod has 1 sound for the gun in general and no more, to make the gun have different sounds based on modifications you need to tell it to the game via esp (thus adding keywords, descriptors etc)
Better question (imho): Is there a possible future in which this mod gets an optional file that ONLY changes the sounds (for those of us who either like the performance of the gun as-is or use mods like Crafting Framework to tweak things to our liking)?
I understand but that's what I mean. Say we're only interested in te MG42 sound and don't want the extra .esp. So the sound for the MG42 overwrites the one existing sound file.
Sounds from this mod alone won't be "seen" by the game I made a new alternate esp that just adds the new sounds attaching them to the weapon without changing anything else, so it's fully compatible with anything you did to your weapon in the game or with other mods, since it doesn't remove anything nor change any data, just add :)
Yes the mod is the mod esp edited, so you should just overwrite it like if it was a mod update.
Have you the latest game version? This mod is compiled with the latest CC version so game versions under .162 are unstable (this with all mods compiled with CC versions after .162)
MG3 it's basically a MG42 with a polimer stock and chambered in .308 (which is the civilian version of 7.62x51mm NATO rounds) :D
Best ihmo would be to have the proper MG34 receiver along with the barrel, nothing that can't be done if you find the right files, but it's time consuming and a lot of pain for a little gain!
Well the MG3 KWS is a variant of the base MG3, it's like talking about Mp5 and Mp5K, but I get your point - that would be a cool addition but also a lot of work!
