1.0.2 RELEASE - Added built-in replacement for Far Harbour, Nuka World, and two mods of choice (DP2099's 9mm Pistol and asXas' Lee-Enfield) Clean and Worn Textures!
1.0.3 will include worn material swap versions, in 1.1.0 I will make a FOMOD and add Logical Weapons.
Currently working on a few things: Making versions with varying degrees of wear and tear if you find these textures a bit too clean. Making military boxes for ammunition we know was used by the prewar US Army. Patches for weapon mods and Wasteland Ballistics. Finally, a new Logical Weapons extension as mentioned in the description.
I'm really digging the worn look on the boxes my question is if I'm using MF would I need the material swap, replacer, or both? or does it not matter Again they look fantastic awesome job
The process includes an .AI template, a. PSD specmap, and then conversion to .dds, so unfortunately it requires more than Photoshop. Using vector graphics is necessary with this sort of project where resolution is a big factor. I can scale it up to 8k or down to .5k etc. However, I will download Modern Firearms and take a look at their ammo types - I personally don't use it as I'm a stickler for lore. But the Wildey will be put on my list of patches.
Thanks! So far the only renamed ammo was the .308 to become 7.62 NATO in Modern Firearms, and in the discord they were gonna add three more calibers. I was gonna ask for some source files so I can instead do it myself to lessen your work so... yeah.
I checked out MF and they use FO3/FONV era ammo boxes. I'll make a small patch this week. As for .308, I guess I have a slight disagreement with MF there. It will be covered once my Logical Weapons Framework is released but 7.62x51mm NATO is slightly different from .308 Winchester, so I counted it as a separate ammo type. When compared to 7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester operates at a higher pressure - so you can safely fire a 7.62x51mm round in a gun designed for .308. However, the opposite is not always true. Here are some articles on the topic. https://www.ammoland.com/2017/06/7-62-nato-vs-308-winchester-ammo-whats-the-difference/#axzz6EKBinvXj https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2007/09/03/308-winchester-vs-762x51-nato/
Are you gonna be a replacement for New Calibers then sometime? Keep up the good work~ And also I guess since Modern Firearms is all modern tactical military-like weapons, 7.62 NATO works for them I guess.
Hey i'm actually a pretty big fan of this. My main computer died recently so i've been doing a lot of low budget gaming on my laptop, and i have textures and resolution downsized while i play so finding ammo is p hard to do when it blends in with the ground. I like that these pop out more, feels more videogamey.
I love this idea and these textures are great. Definitely looking forward to the weathered version and the aforementioned patches. Thank you for sharing your work. Endorsed!
I just noticed a bug with the replacer version - it wouldn't work with Do It Yourshelf when I had it set to the material override, so it would be best to redo it with pure texture overrides. So if you see an updated version of the replacer that is why.
I did have a small issue where this was changing back my weightless ammo mods to default survival weights. Or if I loaded them after this the weight would work ok but the original textures would be back. But I managed to fix it myself anyway so all good.
