With Fallout 76 standards this one mod is lore friendly, suck it you brotherhood of steel cock sucking fans. the T51 is better than the T60 both in stats and looks, after all it is the pinnacle powered power armor technology since Fallout 1.
T51 IS better than T60, the BoS uses T60 because they can outfit even their dogs with it, because it's much more available. Meanwhile T51 is rare af. Now then, show us on the doll where BoS fans touched you.
I don't hold any negative ideas against the mod, but seeing so many idiots moaning about lore-friendly theories, I just both laugh and feel a bit uncomfortable. True lore-friendly article goes first : http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/T-60_power_armor Now after you read a brief description of T-60 power armor, you'll see that T-60 were designed to "eventually replace the T-51b as the pinnacle of powered armor technology in the U.S. military arsenal". Also, according to wiki about T-60, "This particular set is superior to T-45 and T-51 armors". T-60 does not look like T-45. At first glance, if you bullshit you'll say T-60 is just a bulkier T-45. However, please take a deep look, it's designed much more better than T-45 or even T-51 with a lot of details on the armor. Also, it's the trademark of Fallout series and it's also on Fallout 4 poster, so why will Bethesda make T-51 superior of T-60 so people won't use it much? Also, check the f*#@ing number, are you guys saying 51 > 60? Just saying, I guess the only reason you hate T-60 and want to replace it with T-51, is that you clearly watch so much Power Rangers; or you are still haunted by Skyrim medieval armor, so you want a flat designed power armor just like Skyrim; or you simply hate T-60 because it's rustier than "smooth and flat" T-51 (lol, lore?). Wake up, it's FALLOUT, not Skyrim.
You do know that the T-60 originally started as an updated design of the T-45 to bring it in line with the new graphics of FO4, but then it deviated to the point that the devs decided to make it a stand-alone armour.
How does the T-60 not look like the T-45 anyway? It literally looks like a bulkier version. No bullshit there, place images of the two side-by-side and tell me it's not similar to the T-45 lol.
Taking into consideration the above points, it's pretty obvious that the T-60 was shoehorned in hastily. The T-60 would fit better if it had the stats of the current T-51 and the current T-51 the stats of the T-60, then the T-60 design designated as T-47 or T-48. Looking at the T-51, you can already see that it's an improvement - streamlined and smoother, and as has been mentioned multiple times by multiple sources, 'the peak of pre-war armored infantry technology.'
Also isn't the trademark of the Fallout series the vault boy and the T-51b armour?
T-51 was the best power armor made before the Great War, only way one can "excuse" T-60 is that T-51 was perhaps too advanced. All new materials which were also expensive so mass producing T-51 at that time was problematic. So the designers went back to their tables and picked up old T-45 and "improved" it, making it better then T-45 but more cost affordable then T-51. It makes sense then that T-51 would still have better stats while T-60 would be close. It is basically about the product cost and T-60 would be a compromise between T-45 and T-51, something what could have been made in greater numbers.
Sometimes someone makes something that is perfect in every way, but too costly to make it in large numbers. So they have to compromise and make something simpler and cheaper, fit for mass production. And yes, it would be newer and perhaps used more then the other stuff, but that perfect specimen would remain special and better in every way, simply a bit "too good". So it makes a lot of sense that T-51 would have better stats, but to balance it out T-51 should be made perhaps rarer and hard to get.
Basically, they made the first batch to liberate Anchorage and sent it out and they deed was done, but when the production managers checked the bills and costs and they went like "Hoo. Lee. Shit. This is EXPENSIVE! We need something cheaper!"
I dunno man. I kinda agree with signalZ. T-51 was the pinnacle of power armour during the liberation of anchorage. T-60 was developed after (and is supposed to be better) the liberation, but with only enough time to get a few suits out. Just because it looks a bit similar to T-45, doesn't mean it has to be on par with it. They are just returning to an easier design/concept that they can mass produce etc. Besides, how advanced can T-50 really be? It appears to be held together by leather straps
(I get that it wasn't in other games, and that is why people say it is not lore friendly.....but man they have to add new stuff eventually. It would have made more sense I suppose to base T-60 off of T-51 and make it look updated instead of T-45, but hey, they went the way they went with it. They make the lore now. You just have nostalgia glasses on )
I actually made this mod because of a request I got not because I wanted it too personally I prefer the looks of the T-51 to that of the T-60. This mod was not actually supposed to go public, but I decided to put it on here simply because I wanted to. I am sorry that you feel this way but bashing the people that want this mod is not going to help your case. Also I don't hate the T-60 set of power armor I just prefer the looks of the T-51 so I made it usable. I do believe in the lore but at the same time I would like something that will help me.
The developers of Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas stated numerous times, in-game and out, that the T-51 armor was the best armor made before the war. Period. End of story. If you honestly think retconning 19 year old piece of lore does not bother fans of the series, you are delusional. This has got literally nothing to do with Skyrim. Yes, Bethesda own the lore and makes the decisions. Yes, T-60 is canon and better than T-51. No, we do not have to like that fact or agree with that decision.
well the way things work you make your first thing and it sucks then your second thing is and its super good then you make an economy version thats worse than the second but easier to make. the t-51 is better it has no effect on movement t-60 is like brick just like t-45 and the x-01 is brickish so t-51 is still best. the only thing about power armor that maters in this game is how fast it breaks they all turn whatever is wearing it into a slow moving unarmored target. i use two mods to disable power armor damage i put a comment in the icpa mod page about it.
Lore wise the T-51 is better. The US military just didn't had enough resources to make the T-51 standard so they came up with a new design inspired by the old T-45 which was cheaper than the T-51
the t51 was made to replace the t45 because thet45 was the first power armor it was ineffective and used a short lasting power source
they spent 9 years designing the t51 it was first deployed during anchorage they redesigned the power supply and its also described as using hydraulics which was never mentioned for the t45
the lore on t60 only stated it was deployed after anchorage
other lore we have states the t51 was used even in 2077 months before the war even fallout 4 loading screens stated t51 was the most advanced before the bombs fell
also stated the t51s power source is what alows it to absorve heavy force instead of having stronger metal which would slow it down
it took 9 years toi make that new power source in lore but at minimal a month to make the t60 design prototyope and distribute to the national guard that will never add up
Thanks to the author for the mod. From myself, I will say that I am looking for a mod that basically removes the t60, because I think this is already nonsense and crap. Will there be a T70 in F5 to put it on the cover, or is it better to take a paratrooper's armor suit from StarCraft?
Could you please update this version to have better duration points? The first impression when installing the mod was *...meeh only 80 dur..wtf mod broken?!?!*
Thumbs up. T-60 honestly looks like a more mobile T-45 and really should have been the mid-tier Power Armor, while T-51 and X-01 were the bigger, more powerful variants. It would have been neat if Bethesda set up the lore so that the T-60 was created only as a replacement for the T-45, while T-51 reigned as the most resilient Pre-War Power Armor.
Edit: It would have been more interesting and lore-friendly if T-60 had been based on T-51 in design and not T-45...
thank you. i hate the T-60 so much it takes the already bulky (although in reason) T-45 and says GIVE IT DOUBLE THE BULK so ugly and a pointless retcon. the T-51 looks far better and the fact that i can use it practically now is a god send. what they should have done to fit it into the timeline is either A. do as suggested so far and make it a more affordable T-51 but less powerful B. it is an improvised upgrade to the T-45 by the brotherhood in preparation for war with the institute
I Love The t-51 Power Armor it Is Just The Best For Me And I Think It Is The Best Model In The Game But I Can Say I Really Like T-45 But The T-60 Is Just Is A F**king Copy Of The T-45 And Yeah But For The X01 Power Armor I Dont See Why That is Even In The Game Fallout 3 Enclave Power Armor Should Be In The Game Not This x01 Stuff Because The Games Are Set In The Same Time Line That Is What I Don't Understand Hum. ..........
Gonna have to disagree with you there. The Advanced Power Armor Mk I (or X-01), was the original power armor manufactured by the Enclave. The developers decided to return to the original Enclave power armor as they wanted Fallout 4 to be a tribute to the earlier Fallout games, like Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (i.e., the tighter, royal blue vault suits making a reappearance after Bethesda replaced them with a baggy, faded, leather counterpart in 2008 FO3). And I welcome this change, the Advanced Power Armor looks much better than the unremarkable Enclave Power Armor from Fallout 3. The Enclave's power armor was meant to be superior to the others in every way, and thus it is logical that they had the cooling fan on the spine (Sad that they scrapped the fan in Fallout 4) and the broad, tall shoulders. If the Fallout 3 Enclave armor was included in the game in place of the X-01, I would be pretty disappointed. And the X-01 can be found in Fallout: New Vegas, which is set 6 years prior to Fallout 4 iirc, so the time period is unimportant. Frankly, Fallout 3 tried too hard to abandon the original Fallout concepts that were perfectly fine to begin with, and the general response was that fans preferred the look of many of the classic armors over the FO3 ones, hence why every Fallout game since 2008 has slowly gotten more closely related to the first "Fallout." This is demonstrated by New Vegas including the t-51 for the BOS (The West-East coast Brotherhood power armor differences was just an excuse created by the Devs to make the BOS return to the t-51 without the issue of lore-breaking), the presence of the Remnants Power Armor in Fallout: New Vegas, the more olive green super mutants in Fallout: New Vegas and 4 (in comparison to the puke-yellow super mutants of Fallout 3), and more. Frankly, I think most people played Fallout 3, ignored the rest of the series, and then went on to criticize the other games for not being Fallout 3-esque. In terms of armors, weapons, and overall creativity and inividuality, I would rate Fallout 3 the lowest of the entire series, including Fallout: Tactics, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and my knowledge of Van Buren.

all ontop of also designing the x01 and t65
You can access it here if you would like to put a copy on your mod page. I will pull mine down if you want to only host it on your mod page.
