Logically I think the first Minutemen quest should be to help Abernathy farm, going to the Olivia base. But the Minutemen quest line completely skips Abernathy. I once avoided Abernathy to see if Preston would ever send me there but neither Preston nor the Minuteman radio quest ever did. Then the second quest could be Tenpines or Oberland and Corvega, I guess. Tenpines to Corvega is quite a trek... you'd think there'd be somewhere closer. Oh well.
There is a gunner's Camp on the overpass right south from Tempines. I think that would be a nice spot to clear, but I don't know if you can assign exterior cells to quests. Unless you modify the quest to consider actors instead of places. I know that at least the gunner sniper above the overpass is a handplaced NPC.
Thanks for doing this. I really like the idea. However, I have used this for three separate games and have yet to get Walden pond, or anything remotely close to Tenpines. I keep getting sent way down to places like the Charleston area...the Drug Den, and most recently Hyde Park. If you are still working on this mod, I would love to see a smaller group of options so we don't get sent all the way across the map. As someone said below, that seems like the opposite result from what this mod aims for. But Thank you for making this. Really good idea.
My first location i got was Andrew Station and i had Deadly Commonwealth on and let me just say it took me like 1 and a half hours to take it over i recommend this mod if you are wanting to go south for the first quest not a bad mod though little tweeks here and there and this will be great for those that are tired of Corvega.
I too got sent to Corvega in my past 10 playthroughs, so I was looking for something like this. Got bad news, though - even though I wasn't sent to Corvega, I was sent to Poseidon Energy which is in the FAR, FAR SOUTH EAST, near Quincy. Would've had to basically cross the entire map on a new game, which can't be what the mod author intended. The mod is matter of convenience, after all.
Preston never sent there. I play this game since lauch in 2015 and was only visiting the Assembly plant to check for mod conflicts. I wonder what I've done differently all the time.
@ Kintaro: The plugin has Nuka World as requirement but that isn't necessary. Can easily be fixed in FO4Edit with the Clean Masters function. And the ba2 archive contains 2 scripts from F4SE (Form.pex and ScriptObject.pex). I guess they shouldn't be in there.
Your description page is easy to read and understand. Machine translation works surprisingly well.
I wonder... if you don't roll Gristle's body, does that avoid the Corvega priority effect?
Checked with a friend of mine who doesn't often have Corvega and he mentions often forgetting to loot the Concord raider bodies. I'm thinking this may be it!
No. The quest has a ClosestDungeon alias which is filled with the closest Raider dungeon, and a CorvegaDungeon alias that is filled with Corvega if the settlement you are helping is Oberland or Tenpines. Both of those aliases are set to Force Into Alias When Filled to the RaiderDungeon alias, which is where you actually get sent. The aliases are filled in order, so if CorvegaDungeon fills it will always populate RaiderDungeon. As far as I can tell the only way you wouldn't get sent to Corvega by Tenpines is if you already cleared it for Oberland Station.
I checked it again and I get sent to the Walden Pond from the Tenpines Bluff settler without cleared the Covega Assembly plant before. That's on a vanilla game without any mods and it happens everytime.
Closest Dungeon... but it isn't. Closest Dungeon is Olivia but I guess that's reserved for Abernathy while Thicket Excavations isn't available until like three days after Pull the Plug and Concord's been cleared.
I don't trust those "closest" tags in any event. If you've ever been handed a Clearing The Way mission at Nordhagen Beach you know what I'm talking about; usually it's taffington Boathouse but on one memorable occasion it was Sunshine Tidings! That "Great spot nearby" was on the other side of the Commonwealth!
The only two possible settlements included in the First Step Quest are Ten Pines Bluff and Oberland Station. So you are send to either one.
What really strikes me is that Preston doesn't send you to Oberland, seeing as you are already going that way-ish on your quest to The Great Green Jewel as Mama Murphy suggested. The most logic way to Diamond City is through Cambridge, crossing the Charles River at MIT, or crossing the Charles River using the railroad bridge at Greentop Nursery , a way which will lead to Oberland Station. Ten Pines Bluff is exactly the opposite way... *shrugs*
But I digress ...looking from these two settlements the game says Corvega Factory is closest by, ignoring indeed Olivia, probably not qualified as a RaiderDungeon for Ten Pines Bluff or Hangmans Alley, also probably not qualified as a RaiderDungeon for Oberland Station .
@Ablaze666 : I play this game since 2015 too, and was always sent to Corvega. Every playthrough, like most people here. Same on PS4 and PC. It seems you are lucky.
As I mentioned, Olivia's probably reserved for Abernathy farm and the Returning The Favor quest. I've gotten Abernathy on my own and from Preston as a later quest and Blake never fails to send me haring to Olivia in search of that locket.
Not sure why you included a script, literally the only thing you need to do is edit the CorvegaDungeon alias on the MinRecruit00 quest and change its Force Into Alias When Filled to 'None'. That way the RaiderDungeon alias will always be filled with the the ClosestDungeon one.

Has it become normal?
The mod could use some way of forcing an early game dungeon.

I'm going to work on the correction now.

I get send to Corvega 99.93672% of the time too..
