Quick question: Do I install this in the main game folder Fallout 4 or the Fallout4 folder below Data inside the main folder?

Sorry this is a year later.  You manual install it into the FO4 folder with your Fallout4.exe file.  It's usually somewhere here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4

    - Run the script
    - Spawned Emogene is silent and probably set as non-essential, won't talk to your character to go on with the quest nor follow you. In that case add use console command "MS09Mission02 70" so you get to next stage.

    - To force that b-word to follow you, just use AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks), point at her and set the NPC as simple follower and fast travel to Cabot's House to trigger the next event and complete the quest.

Emogene bugged out even after running the script?  Crazy, it seems to work for me.  I may be able to make an optional bat file like what you said if this happens to anyone else.
I do not have the Amazing Follower Tweeks mod, so I don't know how it would work, but I'll see what I can do.

Interesting, I've never heard of this issue. I've been able to play this quest pretty seamlessly across three playthroughs. Although I did just run into a bug with the USS Constitution where after installing all the requirements Ironsides won't talk to me and the Scavvers don't spawn to attack the ship, so...

There are bugs I never encountered in my playthroughs. But it's good to have a fix
Overall F04 is pretty bugless for me

Oh absolutely, honestly it's the first time I've ever encountered such a bug to where I couldn't complete a quest without using the console.

Sorry this is a reply from so long in the future.  I've run into this bug WAY too many times and I figured other people would want to use this bat instead of looking up all the console command to fix it.

Hello. Your bat file, don't work, even without mods. Emogene can't find where she must. One time, when i return to the place she locked, after this person unlock her, all i can find is a door !!!!
    That's all. Thanks.

Sorry this is a reply from so long in the future.  Make sure that when you open the console that there is nothing being "pointed" at.  click on an object, then click it again to get rid of that "pointer".  Then try running the bat file.  I find that bat files do not work if you have clicked on something earlier while in the console.  If that doesn't work, let me know.

I say thanks like the rest, but there's a caveat; the closing prid was omitted. It's an easy fix, at least.

Anyone with notepad, just open the .bat file, add prid as a final line, then save it off.

Just glad to be of help. A programmer and modder I may never be, but I can help with some things. It feels good.

I feel the same way. I have basic programming knowledge and I've attempted to make mods before for Oblivion and New Vegas. All of them were tons of work that ultimately ended in failure and I never uploaded them.It makes me appreciate the modders that show their talents.

The entire cabot quest line is like a giant HOLE in the game we can clearly see there was supposed to be some link to the crashed alien spaceship and the companion comments we hear when asking cabot about aliens creating human civilization are a dead giveaway. I think what was supposed to happen was we could get access to the alien spaceship possibly still in orbit since fallout 3 and use it to teleport anywhere but since the institute has a teleporter too that must have made the idea useless or redundant and not worth the dev time. The cheap knockoff in the form of nuka world DLC was not good enough not even close.

Talk about good timing. This dreaded bug happened on my playthrough last night. I tried the commands manually following a guide from a site. It didn't work because somehow the guide omitted the 'enable' part at the end. Thank you.

Same here - I wound up at this quest and did some research. I figured this bat file would hopefully make things easier for people who had just as much trouble as I did.

This whole mission is like a multi track train wreck happening all at once! And is pretty much the best damn example of why this game was not received all that well.
Although I can't be sure, I think I finished it maybe more than twice now! And would you believe me that not once did it ever come even close to working correctly! This thing...It's almost fascinating on how many ways it can actually fail! Hilariously last time I couldn't even find Emogene, like seriously I had to console command her into existence!
The down right tragic part is the fact that I find the story behind this to be one of the most fascinating ones in the game, hell the I'll go as far and say the whole damn franchise! It has all the right ingredient's of mystery humor and even horror at certain points balanced out almost perfectly!

Although most of the time I love this game, I have to say that I can understand why a lot of people don't!

As I am currently at the tail end of a S!kyrim playthrew....For all the crap that Skyrim gets and some of it maybe even justifiable, it doesn't come close to the levels of fail that FO4 can achieve!

With the Unofficial Skyrim patch and few mods to combat freezing and CTD, I sometimes forget that Skyrim is a buggy mess. But even with the amazing mod authors behind the Unofficial Fallout 4 patch and other bugfix mods (I humbly thank them all), sadly bugs still appear.

Honestly base Skyrim (Oldrim) with just a few tweaks here and there depending on ones system works pretty well! Which is surprising enough for a game that was released (at least initially developed) with 32 bit systems in mind! Where the proverbial sh** starts hitting the proverbial fan however is when you add mods to the apparently already strained error filled engine of the game, the thing goes down like a deck of cards!

Fallout 4 on the other hand doesn't seem to need that extra nudge! This thing crashes and burns just fine without much help. In fact I had a much more stable run in this game with mods than without!

One would think with all the updates it keeps getting that they'd at least solve some of the more fatal errors, like getting stuck on probably the second terminal one encounters in the game....the one on the basement of the Museum of History where our beloved Preston Garvey awaits! Instead they just hinder the people that are actually at least attempting to fix the things, with them apparently almost having to redesign their work with every game update!

I could be wrong though it's been a while since played the game, heard it got a few more useful updates! Any confirmation on that?
