Hey Guys! Huge new update out, please read the Changelog for everything new and everything fixed and check out the screenshots for the new stuff aswell.
Would it be ok if I posted a balancing patch for the weapons?
I've been doing a bit of tinkering and found what I feel is a nice sweet spot for them (LR35 and GL20) I'd also swap the ammo to use UC ammo at base.
I'd like to take out the prime capacitor but I'm not sure how to do that or reduce the damage it gives... edit: i actually figured that part out and would set that to 1.
The armor is handsome and well worth putting togeater. The weapons... yeah. The entire project is gated behind finding enough ultracite crystals to build stuff. The only places to find these crystals are in the Glowing Sea, specificaly in a cave, Virgil's place, a broken reactor building, and Atom's Crator. Of all of these, only the crator respawns.
One sweep of the Sea nets you 40 or so crystals. The crator repops every few days. So building the armor itself is not too much of a chore. Modifying the weapons and making ammo are another matter entirely.
The ultracite requirements for these things are absurd to the point that it's just not doable. 10 crystals for a PA torso, ok. 15 for a laser pistol reciever? No. And everything else related to the arms are of similar cost. Just not worth it.
Attempting to tweak the values in xedit had no effect whatsoever. Trying to console in enough crystals to make the project worthwhile fell flat; for some reason the game refused to accept they exist. ESP explorer netted ONE crystal.
Get this mod for the armor; leave the guns where they lay.
I managed to find the item id for the ultracite easily enough "help ultracite 4 misc" will do it, just pageup the list till you see "ultracite" and there you go, bob's your uncle
Wound up using the chest hack to create a big pile of crystals. The armor is still worth it, but the guns are, well, crap. Compared to other arms I have access to, anyway.
That being said, if you use Worsin's, and don't mind waiting, you can grab the armor out of Boston Airport and convert it to advanced. No ultracite required. Or ESP Explorer to really cheat the bits in.
Are you kidding? The Gatling Laser does double the damage of the normal one, and also has a faster fire rate. Sure it isn't wounding, but jesus, it'll kill just about anything.
Do you actually have to join the BoS for the Ultracite Armor at the Airport or can I simply bust in kill the guards and take the armor? In other words is the spawn of the armor at the airport truly condtional on player joining the BoS?
