Maybe it's me but both these two sound like the "just because I can doesn't mean I should" responses. Quite literally in fact. .300 Blackout is one thing, but 9mm and 12.7mm? That is Wile E Coyote level of genius there - send me 2 of those conversion kits Acme.......
I don't really understand what you're getting at? Are you saying that I shouldn't convert the rifle to 9mm and 12.7mm calibers because it's not realistic? If so, you should know that the mod in the first place had a 9mm caliber conversion, just didn't use 9mm ammo in game, and in Fallout New Vegas, the survivalist's rifle uses 12.7mm rounds.
No, what I'm saying is this if it wasn't apparent from my first comment:
9mm is a Pistol/PDW round, and the Service Rifle simply was never designed to be that. 12.7mm (.50 cal) requires a configuration the Service Rifle simply can't accommodate.
If I want .50 cal rifle it's bolt action. If I want a 9mm, I go get a Beretta. If I want a MODERN 12.7mm that can fire semi-automatic out of a rifle platform, then I look the to the Russians and their shAK-12. The latter though is complete overkill, it's essentially cheating in Fallout 4.

As I said in my earlier post, .300 Blackout in the Service Rifle - it makes perfect sense and would make a great sniper upgrade to that venerable piece of kit.
I didn't make this mod to replicate how calibers work in real life. I just added the ability to use 9mm ammo on the receivers for the service rifle since the mod had a 9mm receiver in the first place (it was just using 10mm ammo, and was named 9mm receiver), and to use 12.7mm ammo for the survivalist's rifle a unique version from New Vegas that used 12.7mm rounds. I don't get why this is a problem. I should be able to create any mod I want. The point of modding is to modify the game how I want it, and I don't mind having unrealistic calibers. If you want your service rifle to use realistic calibers, I suggest you create a mod that does so. We shouldn't judge other people for playing the game the way they want to play it.
If you want to look to realism, there are tons of AR-15s chambered in 9mm, and it just requires a new upper receiver and barrel, you can use the existing lower receiver as is and change out the magazines. Older 9mm AR-15s did require a unique lower receiver for the magwell, but that issue has since been solved. 12.7mm is .50 cal but we're not talking about .50 BMG, just .50 Beowulf, which is a caliber specifically made for the AR-15 platform. .50 Beowulf is 12.7 x 42mm, whereas .50 BMG, which most people think of when they hear .50 cal through popular culture is 12.7 x 99mm, a much longer and more powerful round. The AR-15 accommodates .50 Beowulf so well that all that needs to be replaced is the upper receiver and barrel, you can even use normal 5.56mm magazines if you swap out the follower for a .50 Beowulf one and they work as single stack mags due to the cartridge's width. So its a decently realistic mod as both are existing calibers an AR-15 can be configured to fire.
Not all .50 rounds are equal. The 12.7mm round we use in this mod is likely quite similar to .50 Beowulf, which was designed for use in an AR. Plus, 9mm ARs have been done to death and back IRL, too - neither one is particularly unrealistic, and they also both fit the Fallout universe due to the rounds being present in New Vegas. In fact, .300 Blackout would be more like "just because I can" since it's not even really lore-relevant, which is a big part of the Service Rifle mod.
Works like a charm, though one minor nitpick. On the survivalist rifle the ammunition type is written as 12,7mm rather than 12.7mm. Very minor, but I figured I'd mention it, otherwise very good mod.
hey just letting you know on the survivalist rifles stats it currently shows it as taking 12,7mm ammo still. not a huge issue as stated earlier but I figure you might wanna know as you recently fixed a similar issue with the naming of the ammo.

It was one of my favourite weapons back in New Vegas.
I'm already using the 12.7mm Pistol patch from Deadpool2099's mod page and would like to use the same 9mm ammo from his 9mm pistol mod.
