EPO was always a CTD mess. Hell, the ini file it comes with is absurd. If you have the original EPO, delete its ini ASAP. The default value for particles in less than 800. EPO boasts a radical 50,000. The problem is not just the dirt smoke, it's the entire particle system as a whole. 95% of my crashes would come from EPO alone on minimal mod loads, and buffout reliably pointed to the Particle manifest. No coincidence i have no crashes or isses or conflicts once i disable EPO.. Burst Impact Blast may not be as flashy, but it accomplishes the important stuff without any issues.
If you absolutely NEED EPO, the 2.0 build was stable. It wasn't as flashy as 3.0, but it wasn't gonna kill your game. Too bad 2.0 is difficult to find. If anyone can mirror it, please do so. As it would give people who wanna use EPO an actual chance at happiness.
Just a heads up tested the MAIN MOD "Extreme Particles Overhaul" and have found that crashes are more than likely being caused by the mod itself. Some fixes here and there might make it work in the short run, but in the end it will cause majority of the crashes.
As lots of other users mentioned in the posts sections here and for other patches for EPO it's not actually deleted from Nexus you can still download it if you have a direct link.
The only thing the ini changes is iMaxDesired=500000 (it's usually in the range of only a few thousands) so you can just delete it or leave as is, your choice. Personally, I have deleted the ini and most of the files leaving only the effects I liked which were an absolute minority. And yeah, just drag it into a mod manager and enable it as usual.
The author deleted his account and all mods :( Does anyone have a copy of Extreme Particles Overhaul 3.0? ^^" I have a copy here, but it's not the original, it's a version I've altered... A lot ^^"
Really? Well, I said I didn't test it ^^" Damn, I thought I solved this problem :( Now I'll have to find another copy.
Edit: Also, are you sure? I tested with 4 different anti-viruses and I didn't find anything. Which anti-virus did you use and what is the infected file?
It says here the files were last modified in January of 2018, and the original was not updated for many years, So... I guess it is. But you may want to look for viruses on all files, as I said, I still didn't test it. Although I did search with 4 different anti-viruses and I didn't find anything. But... we can never be sure of that ^^"
@RyanBurnsRed Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml is a false positive. It appears on multiple file types and executables and it only shows on windows defender (which you shouldn't use in the first place if you're concerned about safety).
so does dowloading ImpMontezuma's link automatically give me a trojan? or do I have to unpack it? I just downloaded it and deleted it right after, I never unpacked it tho
I doubt it, by now I'm pretty sure that was a false positive. But I deleted the link just to be sure, people can use the original link given by RemTon anyway.
Nah, a trojan can only execute if you prompt it. Your antivirus would have caught any automatic execution, so it would have to rely on you clicking any file inside that zip
Hello, I have a file of this mod on my pc but my download is from 02/19/2020 so I don't know if it is the latest version of this mod, the name of the file is: Extreme Particles Overhaul-24159-3-0.7z. Tell me if this is the right file and I will try to publish it
