This is the most amazing case of placebo effect I've ever seen. Tested it a while ago and now again on a better PC. There's completely no performance gain, instead a small fps loss. Tested many different dxvk config settings. Don't use it blindly, test for yourself.
1) Rename the [d3d11.dll] from this file. (e.g. [VULKAN_d3d11.dll]), then place the renamed DLL in the folder where fallout4.exe is located. 2) Edit [enblocal.ini], rewrite the following contents. EnableProxyLibrary = false to true InitProxyFunctions = false to true ProxyLibrary = [renamed DLL Name(e.g. VULKAN_d3d11.dll)]
For Reshade 1) Download Reshade 4.9.1( 5.0.2 work as well) 2) Install Reshade, and while you are requested to select the rendering API, pick VULKAN.
It is possible to use both enb or reshade at the same time.
I don't think this is a placebo, playing on pre-NG and not only has my framerate stabilized in Boston, but I've also seen a massive cut in crashes with a 4070ti Super with 6 hours of uninterrupted play/multiple reloads when before downloading this I was crashing 3 times an hour.
here too, on next gen, only a 4060 and 4k ingame graphics, but the game runs so effing smooth now and with no crashes and almost no framedrops in boston, that's amazing.
this mod here and Fallout Priority puts my gameplay on a whole new level.
I managed to make fo4 alot stable by using this and couple of bug fix mods. heres how i did -disable vsync in fallout4 pref.ini and make it *READ ONLY* after editing. -install high fps physic fix and buffout 4. -disable vsync (again) in high fps physic fix config and run the game in boderless window and rescale it so it go full screen -install latest enb and subtle enb -make sure enb and dxvk work together. follow the guide in sticky post. -*CAP* your frame and (again) disable vsync in dxvk config. and finally force vsync the game through enblocal.ini it might not give so much performance gain for you but im running the game on a cave man pc so its really noticeable
Alright, real talk here. Late November 2024. I know there's a lot of words, you can make it, I believe in you.
I'm running Fallout 4 "Next Gen" edition w/all DLC via Steam on a Ryzen 7900X w/64 GB DDR5 6000, a Radeon RX 7900XTX 24 GB video card, and a Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2 TB NVMe SSD running Windows 11 x64 with all the latest patches as of this writing.
I run at a native 2540x1440 to 4K upscale with the Radeon Driver on my TV. I run native 3440x1440 on my monitor when I feel like playing at my desk with no upscaling. I float between 250 and 300+ FPS with "AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2" frame generation enabled under both conditions.
I have 245 individual mods installed and running with Vortex handling the load order. Needless to say, it's a reckless metric shitload of mods. It's a miracle the game even launches in my estimation. Pastbin Dump: https://pastebin.com/y1nz1w15
I run simple little things like Graffiti additions to the Workshop and Character Presets, to fully blown ultra-mods like Sim Settlements 2 and Mutant Menagerie.
I'm not running any ENB... Yet. Not sure if I will at this point.
I have all but given up hope about not having a crash to desktop every 30-60 minutes. Whether it's my Radeon's Driver shitting the bed, or the game just dying with no rhyme or reason to discern, I expect crashes all the time. My F5 key is practically on it's last legs.
I decided to give this mod a shot, cuz why not?
I can say with absolute certainty that this mod does work, at least in my experience. I literally went from CTD every 30 minutes to playing 6+ hours without a single problem... Until I looked at a Midnight Sun flower from Mutant Menagerie. Can't win 'em all I guess. I'll take it though!
Give this a shot if you're running into crashing problems. It just might be worth it.
The best solution for Fallout players to use Vulkan with next gen update in 2024 is to download Gshade which is a fork of Reshade and uses the latest DXVK 2.4
Gshade has built in DXVK support and management for the game
Intel GPU users can use the files from dxvk-gplasync and drag them into C:\Program Files\GShade\DXVK\x64
dxvk.conf still needs to go in Fallout 4 main folder next to the game launcher. If you want to customize settings. an example .conf file can be found in the last update of Fallout 4 Vulkan
Nvidia Profile Inspector on GitHub can help for Vsync/Gsync for Geforce users
What is this DXVK I keep hearing about? Trying to search it on Nexus and I am not seeing it, unless the DXVK stands for abbreviation for a full name nobody wants to type out.
DXVK is a translation layer to execute DirectX programing with vulkan, this was created to increase the game performance on linux, vulkan is better performance wise than DirectX so if you run the game drawing the images with vulkan instead of DirectX sometimes can run even faster than the DirectX implementation.
With this installed, my GPU load *never* goes above 3%. And 3% is downtown, with precombines & previs disabled. Everywhere else, load is between 0 and 1 percent. This is in stark contrast to the 20% to 50+% I'm getting with the d3d renderer. Needless to say the 1080TI also runs much cooler with this.
Alas, no noticeable FPS improvement from using Vulkan though, and the Object Fade Glitch still persists. But is there any chance to make this work with Load Accelerator?

Edit sorry double post.. how delete wrong post ?? I'm so noob lol
dxvk.hud = 0
in dxvk.confFor ENB (By chairo_hippo's Load Accelerator)
1) Rename the [d3d11.dll] from this file. (e.g. [VULKAN_d3d11.dll]), then place the renamed DLL in the folder where fallout4.exe is located.
2) Edit [enblocal.ini], rewrite the following contents.

ProxyDLL = vk_d3d11.dll
seems to work just fine for me ;)
