He got a point... and it is a good one. yes i mean yes muzzle flashes DO NOT produce that much of light like in the Fallout 4. if you're ever shooting a firearms in the dark that won't produce that much level of light, this implemented on games like ARMA 3 too... go play that game if you're interested to see... only flashes at the end of the muzzle and crack of sound and whizzling noise wushh...
You do realize that a muzzle flash produces light, right? That is why there is light. The big bright flash coming out of the end of your guns is FIRE. You've effectively intentionally made your game less immersive for absolutely zero reason. Just Sayin....
No, you're wrong lol. In real life muzzle flashes are far less common and you usually only see on big guns and they're still small flashes. You'd need a big ass muzzle flash to actually have a reflection like that. Also, even if that was the case you wouldn't be able to see that light from a mile away XD.
sebastianreid46 is right, watch this clip from youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbzMAEtEgss ). (Wonder why Bethesda even integrated it into the game?!) Anyways....Endorsed and kudos for this mod! :)
Thanks dude. And yeah exactly, Bethesda has been doing this since Fallout 3 and I don't know why lol. I don't think they know how guns work XD. Also, if you're interested in making guns more realistic I'd recommend downloading one or both of the other mods I linked in the description. Thanks again for the endorsement.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0LiOQeR6PQ different calibers with muzzle flash. Only the rifle caliber is producing significant flash, but actually all of them producing light. The video added by jian is flawed, as the guy was using a flashlight on his gun, so does not make sense. In the video in the link posted by me, you have a guy that is shooting in complete darkness.
Right but that's in the dark. That is pretty much the only time you would ever see that in real life. In this game you get it all the time even in broad daylight. And we aren't arguing against muzzle flashes being a thing, we're arguing against the muzzle flash having light reflection on the things around it. And even with some of the biggest flashes in the video, only some create that reflection. The point is that in real life you need it to be really dark and have the right caliber and barrel size to get a muzzle flash big enough to get a reflection like that. So I think it'd just make more sense to remove it from the game entirely.
They DO flash and light up the ground, that's one reason why they invented the flash suppressor. The reasons most firearms don't flash much is because most weapons 7.62 or higher come with a flash suppressor. At night out in the field, far away from light pollution, the cherry of a cigarette can be seen for miles. The first time i saw it, i assumed that it was a red-lens flashlight. Needless to say i was shocked to learn it was only a cigarette. The flash from a weapon, while only seen for an instant, is WAY brighter than a simple cigarette.
A muzzle flash happens every time, (well maybe 1/10 it wont happen) the reason you don't always see it is because of the speed at which the reaction happens, about 1-2ms for the entire duration of the flash, caused by the expanding gasses and un-burnt gun powder being shot out of the barrel. Why you can see them with you naked eye more often on larger caliber and short barreled firearms, is bc of the greater amount of gasses and more specifically, un-burnt gun powder which then ignites and produces a larger, longer lasting flash, maybe around 7-15ms which is a lot easier for the eye to catch. here's a slow motion video of Dan firing an AR-15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD7pd03L43k. it's a pretty cool channel anyway, you should definitely check them out. :D
Would you like me to add an optional file that only changes the suppressed lights? I can do that. But what I'd recommend is downloading the second mod I linked on this page or some other mod that makes muzzle flashes more realistic anyway so it'd make more sense to not have the reflection on any gun.
How did you get that angle of the camera?command or mod? As far as I know in fallout 4 you can no longer rotate the camera while you have a weapon equipped like in fallout 3

in fallout 3 you could do that on the go.
obviously carrying a weapon, because without a weapon you can.
