    I've been wondering about this for like FOREVER but, HOW the heck do you pronounce "Claiomh Solais"??????????????

      Well, in my English accent approximation: Claive Solish (you can say clave or clive), and solish pronouncing the o as in so rather than sol). The clay in claymore has roots from the similar Scots Gaelic for sword too. But shishkebob is spelt wrong (it's bab not bob).

    I was curious what the direct translation was, so I thought I'd share incase anyone else was;
    Claymore (of the) Sun.

      It would actually just be Sword of the Sun, Claymore itself comes from Irish/Scots gaelic and means "Big sword", a one handed sword like this would likely be a Claideamh Beag or Small sword. Source: I learned Irish as a kid and am on my way to trying to become fluent.

    I had to look up the pronunciations. It's pronounced differently depending on the region where you are; CLIVE So-lish in Connacht dialect, Cleeve Solish in Munster, Clay-uv So-lish in Ulster.

    Beautiful. Definitely going to be making an appearance in my Commonwealth.

      Awesome!  Will update the description page! Since the Claiomh Solais is from the Ulster Cycle I will use the Ulster pronunciation.

      Thanks for looking it up!

    Before I even saw the pictures, I totally thought it was the one from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow lol.

      Does kind of look like it, but I took my inspiration from a stamp
