since Amazon's Fallout show seems to bring a lot of new/returning players here I just quickly want to make clear, that I haven't played FO4 for years and don't plan to get back to it anytime soon. So I have no idea if this preset still works as intended (probably doesn't), if FallUI has been updated so much that I'd need to redo this preset or if anything else breaks this preset.
I'm sorry for anyone who came here for a quick plug'n'play preset, but I won't look into it until I play FO4 again myself. In the future I might return to the game, though. I mostly made this preset for myself and shared it in case other players would enjoy it.
However back then I threw this together in like 30 mins, so if you want to create something similar, try around in FallUI and see what you might achieve. You certainly can't break the game and afaik FallUI has a reset function in case you absolutely borked your HUD.
They are generally compatible. I use both. However iHUD overrides some of FallUI's settings and vice versa. Tweaking the settings in the iHUD MCM solved all issues for me.
Took me like 3 hours to track down why my Sim Settlements 2 HUD wasn't working and I finally found it's this preset. It disables the crosshair and compass which HUD Framework relies on for its widgets.
You're perfectly correct! I wasn't aware FallUI HUD by default hides the crosshair when nothing is happening, so it doesn't make that much of a difference to enable the crosshair.
A simple fix for your issue, if you still want to use my preset: - go into the FallUI HUD MCM - move the hit marker somewhere else, because it obstructs the crosshair (it's turned off anyway) - klick "show/hide" on the crosshair - save and reload
Sorry for the late answer, was working a lot. At the time I was using PRC X with NAC X and I believe either the "Faded Glory" preset, or "The Grit". I'm more certain on the "Faded Glory" preset. However I used the DOF files from Luxor's ENB (better performance and I like the looks more). And I'm using the Ultimate Interior and Exterior lighting. Not sure it has any influence in the screenshots, though.
Hi there! Beautiful preset, so beautiful I want it exactly the same as yours. I followed your instructions to the T but unfortunately it's not working so I have questions for ya, if you don't mind =)
Before we get started. I have reinstalled both FallUI HUD and Sensible Minimal. I have also ensured to select "Import Layout" have saved and loaded my game multiple times.
?FallUI's DEF_INV_TABS.xml, DEF_INV_TAGS.xml and lyrConf.xml win out over the same files in Rudy88's Simple Sorter.
3. When you say "Also set your HUD color to white," do you mean go into MCM --> FallUI HUD --> Layout --> Go to each and every widget and change the HUD color to None?
?I am currently having to do this because if I go to Layout and try to change the HUD Color, it defaults back to green. I do not see any options in FallUI - ?HUD to change the HUD Color for every widget at once.
4. Below is an image where I painstakingly went through and selected NONE (aka White) for the colors on every widget, text, etc that I could. Do you have an update you may have not pushed to your settings versus the pictures?
"Hidden" is still stuck as Green, changing it to White doesn't change anything.
Compass doesn't show up at all like your pictures
Radio on the right is missing
Grenade icon shows up
In game it looks like this, not sure where the bullet on the bottom right is coming from at all.
The font replacer is at the bottom of my HUD mods. You also have to create a custom sorting patch and load that at the bottom of your plugins (just above the bashed patch and DTF patch for me) for the Simple Sorter to actually apply in-game. Check the mod's description-page for instructions (it's pretty easy, just follow each step).
3. I use BethINI for my HUD color. Mine is different atm, but for a perfect, bright white, set all three colors to 255. In BiRaitBec's modding guide under "Step 0: Tools Needed", section 4 is a short good guide for proper setup, usage ?and recommended settings for that tool. If you want your Pip-Boy in the same color, set the Pip-Boy in FallUI's (not FallUI - HUD!) "Coloring" MCM settings to "custom color" and enter the same RGB values at the bottom of the same settings page. Although if you want your HUD to be white, you can also just choose white ;) I believe, if you set the HUD colors to white in the Layout Settings to the left of the preview screen (above "import layout") it should apply to everything at once, although I never used it and therefore can't say this for sure.
4.
"Hidden" shouldn't show up at all for my preset, unless you enabled it yourself.
Compass might not show because you haven't enabled or configured iHUD properly. I just left it on default, except for assgining my hotkeys for the HUD and the compass. (Although I see in your second screenshot, it seems to show up, as intended. I just set it, so it shows nothing but NSEW, your own set marker and enemies you tagged through a recon sight.)
missing radio/messages on the right might be caused by a conflict
that ammo icon is probably from another mod
All that said, you might have another HUD mod installed, that causes all or some of these issues due to incompatibility with the Fall UI HUD mod. You might wanna check for that and see if disabling something helps... I know, it can be annoying to lose one mod for another, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made ;)

And also thanks for the HUD preset. I used as base for further tweaking (mainly hiding most stuff).

1. Do you sue MO2?
2. If so, or even if not, in what order would you have FallUI - HUD, Fall UI, Sensible Minimal, Ruddy88's Simple Sorter, DEF_UI Iconlibs Rescaled and Fixed (the uncolored version) F4 Fonts Replacer (Chalet) aetc? I have the following:
?(1) Rudy88's Simple Sorter --> (2) Def UI Iconlibs --> (3) Fall UI - HUD --> (4) FallUI --> (5) Sensible Minimal --> (6) F4 Fonts Replacer.
?FallUI's DEF_INV_TABS.xml, DEF_INV_TAGS.xml and lyrConf.xml win out over the same files in Rudy88's Simple Sorter.

Thanks so much, look forward to your help!

This here is my install order in MO2:
